My parents are sending my brother to a wilderness camp. Has anyone here been to a wilderness camp? What's the life there? I did some research and found good information on the internet like from this site, Wilderness Programs for Teens (http://www.teenwildernessprograms.org/teen-wilderness-programs/). Also read some bad news about these type of camps like from this story of a kid who died in the camp (story here (http://astrology.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/can-wilderness-camps-kill-your-kid-478800/)). I worry about my big brother even though he is not so nice to me sometimes.

I heard about that story before. Most wilderness camps take care of the kids. They'll give them water if they're thirsty or show signs of something like heat stroke, especially in hot weather. I believe it was an isolated incident caused by negligence of the counselors, and your brother likely has nothing to worry about.

Which camp is he going to? Can you do research on the specific camp, read testimonials from kids who've been through it? That may help to ease your mind. I hope the cap works out for your brother, and that it helps him with whatever problems are going on his life. :)
