I don't think a thread about how to lose weight is appropriate for the eating disorders section. A lot of people there don't weigh enough as it is and are working to try and get better. Healthy weight loss discussions are welcome, but fit much better here in the General Hospital. :)

this forum doesn't have a lot of people with COD(Compulsive Overeating Disorder), so it's still more suited to gen.hospital.

problems with modly decisions are normally taken via pm

alright, I just noticed that a few people complained they were overweight. But it seems like more complained in this forum.

So does anybody have any questions?

I know a little about the keto diets, although only from a competitive bodybuilding point of view, from people I've spoken to, a brief bit what I've read, etc. It depends from the point of view of the individual. Like I said, I only really know what it would be like from somebody who's in the gym trying to increase muscular size/muscle mass, while at the same time losing bodyfat and therefore losing weight. This is what bodybuilders do before a competition, except not many use the keto diet which requires no/very low carbohydrates.

From what I understand, a keto diet will involve no/low carbs, but plenty of protein (from main sources of fish/tuna, egg whites and some chicken), no carbs, and healthy fats (from main sources such as egg yolks and mayonaise). The effects of very low carbs or even zero carbs will have a toll on your body, you will be deprived of the nutrients your body is used to for energy, you won't have much energy and will probably be feeling very sluggish, depleted, tired and a bit moody too. You will also be a bit 'flat', the term used as to when you're low on carbs, which would normally be gaining for the weight for you, and you will lose weight/size in most areas depending on genetics and patience.

My honest best advice would be in regards to losing weight/becoming healthier (which I assume what you're trying to do), would be to increase your cardio vascular activity with all sorts of activities such as sports training, athletics, and most common methods in the gym, home, or out such as cycling, running/jogging and even walking. With this, perhaps lower your bad fats, from things such as cheese, some dairy, and also lower your carbs. Try to increase the 'good' and clean carbs such as pasta, potato, rices (white and brown), even some breads, and eliminate the 'bad' and dirty ones such as pizza, flapjacks, cakes, etc. Another idea is to cut off your carbs at some point in the day, say at 6pm to start with, so your dinner or main evening meal could be a protein source like a steak or something with salad or even some fruit before bed as a snack.

As you can probably tell, I tend to ramble on a bit haha. So I hope you've found at least a little bit of this interesting, if not ,I apologise ha. If you'd like any extra advice, feel free to ask more questions or PM me anytime :) Good luck!
