okay my friend invited me to go to the beach and I said I would go, but last night I cut a lot and the marks are really noticable. can anyone think of a way that I could hide them without it seeming odd at a beach?
thanks

You could try talking to her if you feel you can, if not, it depends where the cuts are.

they're on my forearm and they go about half-way up. I found out that she's bringing our other friend too, I dont think I could tell one of them just yet, let alone both of them. if they ask I guess I could use the cat excuse but I dont want them to notice at all.
thanks siobhan

The cat story wont last forever though, try to sit them down and explain to them where the cuts are from, i know it can be hard but sometimes it helps thing to get better
im here to help you :)

Do you wear armwarmers? If so you can get some to match your outfit and wear them.

I suppose so, but they're the kind of people that would treat me differently if they knew. they would want to see...
and I dont usually wear arm warmers and its like 30 degrees (celcius) out today and they would get suspicious... I could out foundation over the older and shallower ones I guess but it would wash off :\
ugh I shouldnt have cut at all :(

It does suck. But if you're not ready to talk about it then your not ready. :(

Well unfortunately this is one of the downsides to self harm.

I think you intend on wearing a bathing suit of some type so your arms and legs will be totally exposed. Also, the wristband thing may help but that only helps if you did it to your wrists.

Otherwise, there isn't some magical remedy that makes the marks go away.

I suggest 3 things. Tell her and/or ignore it and try to stop.

Hope that helped :)

yeah i hate how cutting pretty much kills your chances at going to the beach, i had my most recent scars covered, but then i got sunburt on my legs and now all these old scars are soooo visible :/ i feel your pain
