scary name? well the actual thing is growing pains in the knees:lol::lol:
quite common my doctor told me for athletic teens so i suppose i fit the bill.
it's a really sore, annoying pain you get underneath your kneecaps if you start running or something. Just to relieve you, if any of you guys think your knees are messed up.
Oh and it's easily treated with plenty of Nurofen, or Tylenol accross the pond.
And don't forget to post hear if you think you've had or have it, to see how common it really is:D

My best friend has this. When it bothers her a lot she wears this thin band around her knee that helps....I don't know what it does, but it helps.

I used to have those pains in my knee, but with the years they just slowly went away. :)

I tend to have pain in both knees, although one more than the other but the pain isn't directly under the knee-cap. Both knees are side-ways and I was initially told that it was an issue with the muscles on one side being substantially stronger than the muscles on the other side. However, the pain is still there and I'm pretty sure there's more muscle (and fat) around the knee area. Both have gotten a bunch of sports injuries before, especially the one that is more screwed up as there was some damage with the ligaments several years ago.

The pain is not over-bearing so I don't take pain meds for it. I also avoid Tylenol as much as possible because whenever I take it, I get a horrible headache where it feels like my head will split open. The initial pain usually is still there also.

I have something kinda like this... its like... my hips are at an awkward angle, and it presses down on my knees in a bad way so it hurts them really badly when I run... nothing really helps the pain, but i was in physical therapy for it for a while...
