Dead Silence. Its quite jumpy at times. Its about little puppets and a dead gal called Mary Shaw - she has her own poem in the movie! :P The start of it will shock you. I think you can eithe laugh at this movie and enjoy it as that or take it seriously and you will certainly jump and grab your mouth shut! (you will understand if you see it ;))
The Orphanage. Its in spanish but there is subtitles but i think the fact you have to read it makes it more creepy. Its about an orphanage but a boy goes missing and the parents try to find him and theres a lot of dead children. I can think of a few times you might jump. It depends how easily you are frightened though. There is a boy who wears a bag on his head. Oh oh oh and watch out for Santa Claus! He guest stars xD
I like Stay Alive. Its about a video game that merges with reality. You die in the game, you die in real life. Then the game becomes reality. Theres moments in it when you want to run away with them. So i would recommend that one.
Its been awhile since ive seen this movie but you could try An American Haunting. Its really weird and hard to explain. Em... its about a girl who gets thrashed around her room at night by someone she cant see... Its creepy and only about a teaspoon amount of blood in it.
Maybe also Amitville Horror (new one. Believe me, you dont want to watch the old one!)
Disturbia (Not too scary but tension definately grows. Its also quite romantic at the same time which is interesting)
Mirrors (Its really creepy! You wont look in the mirror the same if you see it!)
1408 - Steven King - Need i say more?
Pet Sematary - Steven King again! You should really watch this one actually. My friend hasn't forgiven me for not turning the channel.
And The Skeleton Key is quite nice too.
Thats all that i can think of for now. I'll let you know if i remember any others.
Enjoy! :)

I'm interested in some scary films as well, seeing as I'm getting a bit bored with comedies ha. I don't think it fits the profile of scary, but it's very powerful, Requiem for a Dream, I'd recommend that. To be fair, the music could easily be in a horror film, it's awesome.

If not already mentioned, the Shining is a real good classic. There's some fairly morbid stuff in it but I wouldn't call it gore...

Cloverfield - Good film. Would like the ending to go the other way. Not too suspence and kinda made me feel car sick :P
Whatever you do, Dont watch Teeth. Its terrible. I think its worse for guys because of a certain scene that makes them shudder and protect xP Em... i dont turn off many films but i turned off Teeth! Dont waste your time.

Personally i thought Black Christmas was terrible. It just seemed so... bleh.
Its been ages since i last watched it but i remember thinking that i'd rather watch Goosebumps. The story line just seemed so stupid. Dont waist your time.
But! If you fancy getting into the Christmas spirit then its pretty good (its nice and snowy outside and the house is full of Christmas decorations xD).

You can find lots of those.
You just have to look.
I'm serious.
A HORRIBLE film.
I'm never harsh on a movie.
But this one...ugh...
Waste of life.

It was crappy.
Cancer Bitch was a terrible actor and was mean to the cute little girl.
Effects sucked.
The dad was a dickhole.
The only part that surprised me was when the super hot cousin chick looked up and some extra crispy guy was there.
