As I lay here dreaming
Soft whispers
You lean over me.
Gently shake me from this nightmare.
Press your tender lips to mine.
Hold me 'til I'm calm.
Comfort me.
Grasp my hand in yours.
Walk with me through the trees.
Protect me from the shadows.
They come, and tear you away.
Forever gone and I'm alone.
People brushing past.
And nobody hears my screams.
My begging. And sobbing.
For the darkness stole you from me.
The moon takes the sun's place
Way up above the tree tops,
Where I so long to be.
Up in the sky, the air.
I cope the only way I know how.
No one notices nor cares.
Curious glances.
Hateful glares.
Winter came but never went.
And soon it was all over.
Watching you from nearby.
I do not know where am I am.
All I know this that I'm finally happy.
I no longer feel pain.
I will never regret what I did.
