I have a best friend and he stays the night at my house a lot. We have been best friends since like first grade. Over the past couple weeks I have been realizing that my boxer briefs have been disappearing out of my underwear drawer. Whenever he is here we sleep on my futon in my basement and we usual sleep in our briefs. I have started to notice that he has been sleeping in the same boxer briefs as me. I don't think it is a coincedence because I always lose a couple pairs whenever he is here. I don't know what I should do because I don't want anything to be awkward between us; I just want him to stop taking my boxer briefs! Advice please!

You could just move your boxer briefs somewhere he can't find them.

Dude I totally know. It's twisted and he has taken some of my favorite pairs!

I don't know where else to put them. My mom puts my laundry away

This is a truly hard situation, and I don't think there is an easy answer. The first thing I would do is somehow put a mark or something on the exterior of the boxer briefs to indicate they are yours. Chances are if you ask your friend if he is stealing your underwear he will deny it whether or not it is true. Also, leave a pair or two out in a conspicuous place when he is around to see if they disappear. If the underwear disappears, then you have the grounds to approach your friend with your concerns. When and if you confront your friend don't come across harsh but tell him you won't be angry if he tells the truth.

There could be a small chance that your friend might fancy you as more than a friend and that his taking your underwear is his desire to be closer to you physically. Be prepared for that possibility, and don't freak out if your friend does like you more than a friend. More than anything be supportive of him while standing firm on your sexuality if you are not gay.

I hope things work out for you, and I would be curious to see how things turn out.

Do not go up to him and yell liar thief. Just be like dude my boxer-breifs are disappearing when you come over. Don't accuse him say something like i know my underwear are awesome but do you have to have mine.

Or go to his house and take them back.

haha. I can't help but laugh, sorry.

I understand how frustrating this is for you. My suggestion is that you just talk to him about it, or hide your boxer briefs about it. If it makes you very angry perhaps you shouldn't invite him around to sleep over in future. Then he wouldn't have the chance.

There are several things you could do, but I don't think you'd want to be friends with someone who sleeps in your boxers.

if you do catch him stealing them maybe you could ask him if his parents buy him underwear?? Because there's always the chance that he's stealing yours because he doesn't have any... or they are getting old and his parents wont buy him new ones... or something.... but you might want to take that into consideration...

Your friend could also be a cleptomanic. He may steal only boxer briefs because he thinks you wont notice because you have many of them, so he needs to relieve his urge to steal on your boxer briefs, rather than stealing your electronics, money etc.
