I want to be a doctor, Im getting good grades, but my mum has no faith in me at times, she keeps preparing me for the worst, its what parents do they are scared of seeing us not reach our dreams and fall back to earth, what are they going to do then, nothing they say will make things better. You really think I'm going to be a doctor, with 40 people applying per one place in university, the odds are completely against me, im not the perfect candidate and i am very unlikely to become one. Am I still fighting to be one, even though im swimming against the stream, against the constant wave upon wave of demotivation from teachers, friends, family... yeh i am, i have no motivation other than to achieve my dream of finally making a difference and helping people in a way more than words, actually saving a life. Fact: My mom read my texts last night and took me to the hospital because she found out I took a "toxic" dose of tylenol and other pain killers. The ER doc asked questions and took blood and called another hospital. Suggested we go to said other hospital to see a psychiatrist. So I slept from 2:30 to 8 and then went to have my mind picked apart. Fran was the woman's name. She was nice. I told her the truth and she took notes. Eventually when my mom was brought back in she suggested that I see a therapist one on one and perhaps go on anti-depressants. She also mentioned the possibility that I could voluntarily admit myself to the pediatric psychiatry unit. I'd be there for at least 3 days before my mom would be able to see the doctors. My mom and I talked about it and decided that she didn't want me locked in a padded room. We then went to breakfast and then I went to school for the afternoon.
