As the sky grows dark
you float towards your room
Singing to yourself
that same 'ol tune

Hush little baby
don't you dare cry
Momma's only tearing apart
your precious lullaby

Cover your ears
and hum yourself to sleep
pray to the scars
your dreams to keep

And as the lights burn out
The song will fade
until you wake in the morning
to the song that you've made

you cover your ears
and hum the same melody
That you've been humming for years
the song is so lovely

so Hush, my darling
and stop sobbing so silent
You're precious song
is turning quite violent

It's shredding your heart
and tearing apart your soul
yet it's holding you together
when nothing else is whole.

So hush my darling,
let the song just flow
block out the world
and never let it go

it's keeping you with me
so hush, baby, please
Sing you're lullaby
and fall asleep with ease

Don't listen to them
just hold on, baby
go ahead and cry
sing your lullaby to me.
