The pounding of your heart in the rain…
Misery rains all around
Thunder claps leave the sky
Long awaited
But fine to me…
Leaving with the storm tonight
Is my friend

Saw it coming with the storm
I saw the pain of being used come with the thunder
I saw the pain of being left behind yet again come in the lighting

But it’s still ok with me

How many nights did that same storm come but not leave?
The rain is up to my neck
Heck there’s no chance I’m leaving this storm alive
You stand there and watch me drown…
Lungs fill with that all too recognizable feelings

Tears flood my eyes
“How could you do this to me?” I scream in agony
How can you say repeatedly you’re going to leave but you don’t?
Just leave already…
Letting go is the hardest thing you’ll have to do as a friend

Suddenly as fast as the storm came it leaves…with my friend…
A peace fills my heart
He’s going to be fine
He’s stronger than he thinks he is…
