I was just wondering, what does circumsision actually do (other than remove your foreskin)... By this I mean, is it beneficial, if so, how? I'm realy confused over this, and It would help if I knew, that way I can provide an arguement for the topic in RE

in all of the things ive read circumsision is useless except by a marginal % in some diseases.
only medical reason is if you have a diseased foreskin that needs removing.

Okay in RE you're talking about something else, which is for religions reasons. Some religions have rules against foreskins (lol,) so you must be circumcised for that.
If it's not medical though, you don't get the pain killers and have to pay for it. Several medical reasons can be tight foreskin (if it's too tight, it can be done at birth,) or an infection or disease of some sort.

Well guys from places where its normal to cut will come up will all sorts of spurious arguements, but unless you have an unusually tight foreskin I don't believe there's any benefit whatsoever.

circumcision isnt worth it,
it should be outlawed for it to be done to any baby/child and should be only legal when they reach an age of which they can give consent to the opperation if they want it.
imo..

*Circumcised men have less bladder infections
*Many find it visually pleasing
*No tight foreskin difficulties
*Increased hygiene (no need to pay attention to cleaning)
*tradition
*Some just do it cuz they were circumcised, but they don't really care. They just do it cuz it's an option.
*Disease or medical condition in a baby, or in a man
*It's reported that it decreases the chance for the man to get an STD. However, it only decreases it slightly and without a condom or abstinence, you still have a very high chance to contract an STD.
CIRCUMCISION DOES NOT EQUAL CONDOM. that should be obvious to everybody.

there aren't any reasons for it to be done. and there shouldn't be since female circumcision is against the law, so should male circumcision. I don't believe in god, but why would evolution gives us a foreskin with millions of nerves. Then some doctor decided "hi lets cut it off for no reason"

No this is not true. A "reason" is a rational motive for a belief or action.
As stated in my above post, there are rational motives for someone to get circumcised. They don't HAVE to, no, but parents can have their own reasons cuz it's their decision, and unfortunately not the child's decision.
I don't believe in god, but why would evolution gives us a foreskin with millions of nerves.
Personally I don't find much pleasure in the foreskin itself. It's the foreskin gliding. But even so I find pleasure without the foreskin, too.
Then some doctor decided "hi lets cut it off for no reason"
I don't think you understand that this has been done before people with medical degrees?

I agree I'm circumsized and I didn't want to be. My parents decided I should get it when I was a baby. Perhaps when I'm older I will get it reconstructed.

Agreed. Just my thoughts.
