Personally, I don't think males can technically get raped in the traditional sense of the word, sexually assaulted and harrassed, yes, but not raped.

A woman, for example, cannot force a man to have sexual intercourse with her, because she cannot forcibly penetrate him in any way, and men in distress cannot get an erection unless he is "turned on".

The only other ways a man may be "raped" is:

1. He gets taken advantage of when he is drunk or high.
2. He's blackmailed into having sex
3. He is underage (which isn't the kind of rape I'm talking about here)
4. Another male anally rapes him, but even so: Anal Sex =/= Sexual Intercourse.

Like I said on the other "Rape" thread, both genders are equally responsible for their actions. Girls pressure their boyfriends to have sex with them too, you know.

Pressuring someone into having sex isn't rape. >_>
Forcing someone to have sex with you, however, is rape.

Men in distress CAN get aroused, actually. The average man is going to get turned on in such a situation.

It is very possible for a woman to hold a man down and forcibly have sex with him. It doesn't happen a lot, but it is possible.

In case you missed English class, a word doesn't need to fit every single definition to be applicable. In which case, the second definition is the key here. And a penis doesn't have to be aroused to be erect; enough stimulation will cause it arousal.

It is very possible to get raped. Most the times when a guy gets raped he is raped by another guy and is forced to have anal intercourse.

Like Enbelism has said a girl can force you to have sex. Most guys will get an erection by being touched by another person. It is highly unlikely that most guys won't get hard if you get a blowjob first.

The definition of rape is being forced to have sexual intercourse.

Although it's not by definition, I believe that forcing any person to engage in penetrative sex against there will is rape. So men can indeed be raped.

I see no reason why a man couldn't get raped. It doesn't have to be a woman raping him, another man can rape him. The simplest definition of rape (excluding non-sexual instances) is forcefully having sex with someone against their will. More often than not women are raped and that's why the definition specifies women. Regarding getting a boner or aroused, that has nothing to do with being raped, the man may get aroused but that says nothing about how willing he is.

Yep, agree with just about everyone else. Just because a guy has an erection that doesnt give a girl the right to sit on it! Without his permission its rape. And of course lots of guys get anally raped, sadly this probably mainly affects kids.

Of course a man can get raped. Rape is generally done out of hate/anger, not a want for sex. It works the same way as male/female rape, just male/male....

Effectively, yes they can. Its still possible for a woman to spike a guys drink, although its not penetrative shes still undergoing sexual intercourse with him without his consent.

Men can be raped, it's just harder for women to do so. For intercourse to actually properly take place, the man would need to have an erection and since the man would not intend to have one, catching a man when he does have an erectoin would be difficult and you would need to force some else's genetaila into your own (wheras you would be forcing your own into th ee other if you were male which is so much easier) which is difficult, but can be done.

Yes a man can be raped. Where in your definitions does it say that the person raping has to penetrate in order to consider it rape??

Also, I know that the definition of sex means sexual intercourse, which by the dictionary means sex between a man and a woman.

But that does not mean that anal sex isn't sex. You can get STDs from anal sex, it can hurt, it can be forced upon you, it can be pleasurable, you can achieve orgasm from it...it basically has all the attributes of 'sexual intercourse', except the baby part. But why do gay people care about that? To them, anal sex IS sex. It's THEIR sex.

Of course it is possible for one man to blackmail, coax or force another man into having sex.

So no I'm sorry but using that "Anal Sex =/= Sexual Intercourse" argument will not work on me.

I believe a woman can rape a man. She can force him to do something that he doesn't want to do. Some women are strong. They can overpower the man. They can also restrain him and do so that way.

And don't argue the mechanics of this all, she can do the work while he sits there.

I feel men can get raped, yes. However, legally speaking, men can't get raped by women. I disagree with this, but that's how it is. Legally speaking, an erection is considered consent. In legal terms, men can't get raped, but they can get sodomized, etc.

Legally speaking, an erection is considered consent.

That is literally the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I'm sorry but really if a law says that then...that's just plain stupid.

Cromm
August 4th, 2009, 12:35 AM
Here here! There is no law, anywhere, that considers an erection consent. Even ejaculation wouldn't be considered consent... not by law, anyway.

...a jury may feel that way, but there's nothing in law about it. Period.

I'd challenge you to find one single law in any state or province that said that!

I seriously doubt that even American law would be that short-sighted.
The body reacts to the situation regardless of whether you want it to or not. Men can get erections and women can get wet. Neither of these reactions are under the persons control and so can't be deemed as consent.

Yes, males can be raped. It's easy for a man to become aroused, and for someone to take advantage of this could be rape.

I actually recall hearing once about some female rapists down in New Zealand who would give unconscious men erections by tying a tight band or something around the base of their dick, or something like that.

Hold on, if an erection is considered consent, then a woman getting wet must also be consent, right? So if a woman is being assaulted then gets wet as a result and then gets sexed, it's not rape going by your argument.

That's exactly why you would be hard pushed to find any law in any country which rules erections to be consent to have sex.
People can't control whether their body responds to a sexual situation or not and as such bodily responses (ie. erections and getting wet) cannot be deemed to be a form of consent.

It's not my argument, it's merely what I've heard. I do not have a credible source for this information either. I personally feel men can get raped, I just know I've heard otherwise and I've heard that an erection is considered consent. I find it completely ridiculous, because every guy knows, it is VERY hard to control what your penis is doing.

Willingness and permission must be communicated clearly and unambiguously. Just because a person fails to resist sexual advances does not mean that s/he is willing. Consent is not the absence of the word "no."
-- http://www.brown.edu/Student_Services/Health_Services/Health_Education/sexual_assault/saar.htm#3I think it is safe to say that whoever told you that was lying - or at least misguided.

For anyone who thinks that an erection must mean you are consenting, rub your nuts for awhile when you're not aroused. The movement is going to cause blood to rush to your hoo ha regardless of whether you want it or not. Which means all a girl has to do is apply enough stimulation at a constant rate and wala.

I got raped when I was 13. I was really a very pretty boy with a nice figure. this much older man of about 50 got me on a beautiful beach. I had on a white speedo and I think it was enuf to turn on anybody. He talked to me for a while then out of the blue said he'd like to fuck me ass. I said no and he quickly had my Speedo down and wasted no time and was puting in this huge dick. It only lasted a couple of minutes then he thanked me an left. After gettting my Speedo up I moticed I was bleeding. It took a while after taking time to wash myself in the lake then I found a phone and called 911.
They found the man and I got to testify at his trial. 11 counts of aggreviated assult and statuatory rape. He got life with no chance of parole for 25 years. I will never go to a deserted beach alone again and now I know some Martial Arts. Next time if it happened nuts will be crushed

I'm a victim of male on male rape, and i would know if it's rape or not. When someone takes control over you sexually, i consider that rape-male or female.
