Here's a story that makes me proud to be Bristish:-

School pupils were suspended from school for attacking teachers and classmates almost 90,000 times last year, official figures show.

A further 98,000 suspensions were given for verbal abuse or threatening behaviour towards adults and other pupils.

The number of suspensions given to primary school pupils for attacking teachers rose by five per cent, from 6,710 in 2006/07 to 7,090 in 2007/08.

Rubbish. That's bullshit statistics. I don't trust stats and never will, its so easy to manipulate them.

Don't take them for its word Nick. Schools are badly run, (well done government, and Mr Balls) but...no.

Pity because our world and especially science rely heavily on them.

But as for the article, there's one thing that's nagging at me. What is their definition of an assault? If there are so many, then chances are there are a good amount that aren't serious at all but if they consider even stepping on one's shoe as an assault, then I can see why the numbers are like that.

But the likely conclusion is that the school is run rather poorly and perhaps this article is meant to deflect some of the blame away from the school and onto the students. Sorry, not going to happen.
