Maybe a little much, but hey, he chose to download illegally, most likely completely knowingly, and he paid the price for it.

This is why I pay for music. It's ethical, (because come on, the artists put time into making the music), and it keeps me out of trouble.

I don't even download it, so I just avoid it in general, but this is a bit much.

eh.. I don't use P2P software anymore, I simply record the song..It's like recording a song off the radio onto a cassette...

Alot of sites now (Imeem/youtube/myplaylist etc) can stream music, I take whats being streamed and record it directly to a audio file... The process takes longer, but it's untraceable, and I'm not hurting nobody. :yeah: Ive successfully recorded over 900 songs.

That's exactly why I buy my music. I mean, it's kinda wrong to just download a band's music that they put time into making. They didn't have to make it.
Jack Black did a thing about piracy and it speaks the truth. Bands don't have to make the songs if they aren't gonna get paid.

675 grand is a bit much, I think. But he deserved. he knew he was downloading that music illegally. I don't download music illegally anyway. :P

Because he did download music illegally, he was fined. However, 675K is ridiculous. It should of been more like $2.32!
