I think it is stupid. I have strong views on illegal immigration already and this isn't helping at all. I understand they are kids and they were probably forced into coming here, but it doesn't help anything a single bit. In a way it promotes kids into coming over here illegally. We are already doing enough for the illegals here now. Instead of giving illegals citizenship, use the money to strengthen the borders.
I tried to be respectful. Sorry if I wasn't.

I personally think its a load of complete bullshit.
They want to give a bunch of illegals money to go to college. Hello!?!?! What about the millions of people that graduate every year? That HAVE documentation. That has legal parents.
We need to think about our own students first. Not the illegals. They need tog o back to their own country.
I don't care if they have a 'dream'. Other people have dreams too.
If this passes, I am going to be unhappy.
I tried to be respectful too :P

I think it's a bunch of bullshit that just encouages Mexicans to sneak across the border to leech off of the system and get rewarded for it. This is a pathetic bill, I'm ashamed to call myself and American when things like this happen.

I can see it's "point", but I can see why people would find it unfair, and it's pretty much an open bait for illegal immigrants, seeing as Citizens nor legal immigrants are entitled to it.
I can understand making routes for illegals to become legal, i.e. having them enlist in the military for a few years, but actually paying for their fees to go to college/university is just too much.

i like the military service idea, but paying for college is a step too far in the wrong direction. if the immigrants pay for college, or work hard enough to get a scholarship, then they should gain permanent status.
i agree with all but the tuition pass.

I have mixed feelings on this issue. I think it is a good idea because it will force the illegal aliens to get an education or get job skills from the military. With these skills they can become productive taxpayers and not be free loaders on the welfare system.
The problem with this is who is going to pay for these illegal aliens to go get the degree. It will be the American taxpayer who will be footing the bill once again.
Obama and the democrats are just looking to get more votes from the Hispanics.

Damn, have we really strayed far.
Illegal immigration is illegal. If you catch an Illegal, they are deported. You don't pay for their collage and make them a citizen. If they don't want to follow the legal system of getting in, well that is just too bad. It's a cockslap to the face for legal immigrants and born citizens.
I really don't see how this could be an issue, I mean really, it's like debating whether or not the government should show support for theft.

I can understand the military idea and I would support that. However, the college one I'm not so much in favour for because it would put an enormous strain on entering university/college, even more so than it already is. I'm also not so much in favour for because they can do any mickey-mouse program, get an associate's degree (or ideally a Bachelor's) and then piss around doing not a whole much of anything.
At the end, it seems to promote an illegal act (illegal immigration), which would only end up putting immense strain on job markets also. However, the biggest issue I would have is that current American citizens would pay to encourage illegal immigrants to come over illegally and clog up the education and job markets even more. Not only do you pay for them to come over, you pay for their education... . That's stretching it too far.
Why not just step-up the border patrol and when you find an illegal immigrant you box them up and boot them back to wherever they came from?

It's a good idea. But it is encouraging illegal immigrants to come over to America, and stay there for longer.
