Now, I'm not trying to insult homosexuals here, I'm homosexual, I wouldn't insult myself. But, do you think homosexuality is a chemical imbalance in the brain or just a normal thing like being straight? Because I've heard people say it's a chemical imbalance, and I've heard other people say it's just a normal occurrence.
I'm just asking for your opinions on the matter.

Look, I'm not out to insult anyone, so if I have, I'm sorry.

I personally believe that it is a normal occurrence.

It is definitely something in the brain that is different. Be it chemicals, structure, personality etc. I don't think Scientists will have a good answer for a long time, we still know very little about the brain!

Personal opinion: It is something in the brain combined with a personality that 'tolerates' themselves being homosexual (Google 'Internalised Homophobia' for more info).

normal...my dad is an evolutionary biologist and says its a natural adapted trait found in a huge number of species. Apparently it serves some purpose in evolution but don't exactly remember.

In my personal opinion.. I would say most of it is due to upbringing, experiences, enviorment etc..

There might be something undiscovered regarding homosexuality on a biological scale.. But so far there hasn't been anything to prove that homosexuality was influenced by genetics or anything else physical

That's just wrong, not everyone is same, and "normal" is relative. Homosexuality appears everywhere in nature, it's not conected to degree of development of specie and it's not limited only to humans, it's not genetically or socially dependant. It appears in all societies in the world, in every times since the human existance, without any visible bounces in frequence. It doesn't affect one's life (medically, emotionally), it doesn't affect growth or development of one's life and comunity in general. I don't think it's something "un-normal". Sorry for my English.

Definitely not a disorder but some kind of variation because it's never discrete but in variable spectre. (I think this doesn't make sense on English.. I don't know how to translate it but literally) If it's genetic as most people say it would be easily found with let's say Mendel's...

according to science, love is just a chemical in the brain. so, if we are being scientific, yes it is a chemical imbalance.

And why should love be limited to only one gender ? If that's what you are saying, I don't understand completely.

I heard it was a chemical imbalance. Nothing wrong with that, though. Depression is a chemical imbalance. Every emotion you feel is a chemical reaction. YOU ARE A COMPUTER

Hmm, chemical imbalance. You are naturally meant to breed with hetero sex. (I am bi, so I'm not being a homophobe)

Because you can't breed with gay sex.

I don't find it unnormal, mate, I fucking LOVE guys. I'm just saying my opinion.

Breeding produces a child.

From Wiktionary:

1. To sexually produce offspring.

I think it's a part of your brain and your heart and your insides that make you gay, straight or bi. I think it's probably how you were born but probably has somethin to do with your life experiences too. I just came out to my friends and my brother a couple of days ago but it wasn't so much a sudden discovery so much as it was takin a look at my life and my experiences and what's inside of me. By the way - Hi Maxy! :)
