Hi everyone! I'm glad to have found this site. There's a lot going on in my life lately, so it's nice to find some sort of outlet.

I'm Aislinn, but most of my friends call me Aisli. I'm sixteen years old and have an identical twin sister, Keegan and an older brother Braedon. Brady is away at college, so I live with Keegan and my parents.

Things were really good in my family until about five years ago. I also had a little sister Kaley. Five years ago, when Kaley was six, we found out she has leukemia. It's a long story from there, but after four years of treatment, Kaley died on March 4, 2008.

My family was really close before Kaley got sick, but it seems like we all went our different ways, especially after she died. My dad works all the time now. Mom seems to have forgotten she has three other kids and spends all her time with leukemia foundations trying to raise money and stuff.

Brady went to college and doesn't come home much anymore. I tried talking to him once, and he said it's just too sad around here for him now.

To be fair to my parents actually, they do focus a lot of energy on Keegan. She's like seven and a half months pregnant. It was a big source of drama in my house, and now there's so much going on to get ready for her baby.

And then there's me. I guess it was sometime after Kaley got sick that I did too. I'm anorexic. And bulimic I guess. I throw up too sometimes. I used to cut, but I haven't in over a year now.

So I guess I just need an outlet and a place to talk. Sometimes it can be really hard around here. I have a few good friends, but I feel like I'm known around school as the girl with the dead sister, so it's hard.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

First off welcome to VT! Everyone here is very nice and willing to talk so don't hesitate. My name's Connor.

I'm very sorry about your sister. I recently lost my best friend in a car wreck, but I have no idea how I'd live without my brother.

A little about me: I'm 16 as well, and have one younger brother. My parents recently got divorced, and I'm kind of known around school as the kid whose dad is a drunk. I haven't cut in 24 days now, and I quit smoking and drinking two weeks ago. I hope you can beat your eating disorders, there is an entire board about that (if I was smart, I would've posted the link here).

Anyways, feel free to MSN or PM me if you need anything or just want to talk.

Hi Rugby and thanks for the welcome.

I'm sorry to hear about your best friend. Losing my sister was really hard, but I can't imagine losing a friend like that. We knew for a little while that Kaley didn't have long, so at least we were kinda prepared for it.

Congratulations on your success with quitting cutting, smoking, and drinking! I know how hard it is to quit cutting, and I haven't been able to quit smoking. I don't drink too much, even when people have parties. I'll have a little, but not as much as a lot of people I know.

And thanks for the offer to chat. You can get ahold of me if you ever need too.

Welcome to VT. Your life seems pretty sad, but you can't let them slow you down. I understand how hard it is, as I have experienced them.

Anyway, I'm Chris. :)
You'll find the people here quite amazing. And very accepting.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome Chris and Patrick.

And I'm sorry. I must have sounded pretty dramatic in my first post there. Yeah, a lot of stuff in my life the past few years has been pretty sad. Losing my sister was really hard. Watching what it's done to everyone in my family has been hard. But there are happy times too.

Even though Keegan is only 16, I'm kinda looking forward to meeting her daughter. It might be fun having my niece around. Keegan and the baby are still gonna be living with us, so maybe the new baby will add some joy to the house.

I'm involved with a lot of stuff at school too. That's a lot of fun, and it was a really good break from the house when my Kaley was sick.
