Okayy so im new to this. But i have been self harming for about 5-6 months and its hard to stop i am starting to realise this now. I havent cut for 2 months so im quite chuffed. But now things are starting to get bad in my life. Recently my parents got divorced, and now big arguments are happening and im caught in the middle of it all. My mum is depressed and is starting to become an alcoholic again and i cant deal with it. My boyfriend of 5 months recently broke up with me and he was the only one i could really talk to when i was upset. So everything was going well, until my best friend went and told my mum about my self harming and my mum went ballistic, so now she checks my wrists every so often. I cant even talk to anybody about it and now i really want to cut. and im scared im not gonna be able to stop once i start again. Does anybody have any tips or anything about how to try to stop these urges?

Distract yourself by running writing talking to someone or just sleeping and im sorry you fee like this stay strong and be safe

Secondly I know how you feel, I've been harming for about 4 years now and I'm trying to stop. If you ever want to talk to someone, feel free to PM me.

It has loads of different ways to keep busy, I've tried some and found out that they do work, as mad as some sound.

PosionedRazorBlades and Sunshine Sterling have already given you links to help stop the urges... but also try and remember that everything thats gone on isnt worth your blood or pain. Life has its ups and downs, but hurting yourself isnt going to make them not happen.

I know what you're going through, i would always quit for a couple months and think i'd be fine but then when more stress entered my life i would give in.
If you really do want to quit, and i can tell you do because you've gone a whole 2 months, than you've got to believe in yourself. its not a matter if you can or can't, because you CAN, honestly if you can go 2 months theres nothing you can't do.
Just be strong, the stress wont be there forever, so if you give in now you know you're going to regret it. Eventually you're going to have to learn how to deal with unfortunate stresses of life without self harming, so just try different approaches on how to cope.

The above givin link is great too. They work. Don't give up what you have. You can get out of this and in time the urge will become way more managable, if not stop all together. You can do it. (:

hey.
i think instead of cutting yourself you should try doin something else like screaming or hit a pillow or tell someone you trust or cry.
because harming yourself wont help you or anyone.
it'll just make the whole situation worse.
