^true.
here are 10 (because i need to go to bed soon) reasons why leopard is an awesome operating system.
1. Finder.
Finder is similar to the "My Computer" on Windows. Finder is my favorite feature, because it is so darn efficient. it does what it is supposed to do, and not much more. it is simple, to the point, easy to use, with 4 view modes including Grid, List, Column, and Cover Flow. Spotlight search searches the computer as you type, and it can take seconds to find the right file.
2. Dashboard.
Dashboard is a simple application for finding useful information and playing simple games. you can create "widgets" or download them from the Apple website. There are keystrokes that can be used to open Dashboard.
3. Exposé & Spaces.
These are two extraordinarily useful tools used for organizing windows and applications. Spaces is basically an extra desktop for your use. There can be up to 16 of these. you can simply drag and drop windows from one space to another, or move your mouse to a corner of the screen to find the window you're looking for.
4. Dock.
The dock is mostly like the Start Menu, only simpler and fully customizable. it only takes one click to open an application (depending on the application. it might take two for the sims 3 lol)
5. Stickies.
Virtual Sticky notes for your desktop! Microsoft really didn't think of that until a few years ago? There is an option to make these translucent or floating. (always visible)
6. iLife.
This is the most entertaining part of OS X, and it comes pre-installed on every mac. It includes GarageBand, iMovie, iWeb, iPhoto, iDVD, and some other stuff i can't think of now. These applications are self explanatory really.
7. No Viruses!
You can browse the internet without worrying. Yes, there are a FEW viruses for mac, but not many. Malware can still be an issue, but that's about it really!
8. Its Beautiful!
Admit it. its soo beautiful and flawless! Everything fits in...
9. Stacks.
These wonderful and entertaining things are basically little stacks of items in finder. For example, i could drag my documents folder to my dock, and then i just click the folder right there and then my documents flip up in a nice little grid.
10. It runs quickly.
This is judging on a new iMac, but it really is fast. it is never choppy or slow, and it just WORKS.
On an extra note, despite Apple's game problems, it still can play the best games out there. Example, the Sims, Spore, SimCity, and Civilization all work GREAT on Mac. Leopard is really good at the ones it can play too! im happy playng TS3 all day anyway. who needs variety? everything is SO compatible, any problems are inevitable.
