its because you are more stressed out. try some things like a bath before bed, or reading a book, have a lavendar thingy in your room, try some herbal remedies for sleeping and if not see your docter and say your stresse with school stuff or something and that it means u cant sleep...

I would go see your doctor. Nyquil can only get you so far.
Try every night taking a bath and writing down what your day was like to get you to sleep. Soft music or some sort of comforting noise may help. Try fishing your childhood stuffed animals from wherever they are and place them around you. A plug in air freshener that smells good to you may help. Try reading a positive and happy book (maybe your favorite book as a kid), which will hopefully put you in a good and childish set of mind going to bed, to give you better dreams. You can ask your parents how they got you to sleep at night, and revert back to that. A lot of trying to sleep well is to make yourself feel safe, and reverting back to when you were a young child can give you that security.
Also, try an hour or so before you sleep to go for a run or do a work out to make you very tired. After that, don't eat or drink unless for some (not a lot!) water to hydrate you. You'll be tired from the workout and then you won't have any more stimulation via food or drink other then the water to hydrate yourself. By staying up a little after that you'll become even more worn out, and hopefully you will sleep through the night or sleep well because you were so tired!

i find having the room completely dark with only small light from some scented candles help alot. try getting into bed at the same time every night also, usually with routine your body get's used to it and starts to follow what you want it to do. and reading a good book or writing down your thoughts for the day might help too
