Dad??

I am usually the guy that all my mates go to for help and advice with anything, but when it comes to me, i dont know what to do.

After watching a show where two long lost brothers find eachother over bebo, I decided to search (on the off chance that it would work) for my dad on facebook.
Somehow it worked, and i found a guy that lives where my family say he moved to, and has alot of friends that are from my hometown. IT MUSt BE HIM!!

So anyway...Assuming that this man that looks like the pictures i have of him (but 15 years older), and has links to my hometown is my Biological father what do i do now?

should i keep quiet and try to contact him myself, tell my mum, or speak to other family members? Any advise or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

First off, I'd definitely advise you not to contact him directly just yet. Because if it's not him, you'll scare the crap out of an innocent stranger. If you think you can talk to your mum about it, that's what I'd do.

Do you have any contact with family members on your dad's side? Because that would be the best way to contact him: in person, not over Facebook.

If you need anything else, just PM. I hope this helps, and I really hope you can build some sort of a relationship with your dad!

Ask him if he's ever had children because your looking for your dad and that the dude looks kind of like him...

Personally i'd say go for it. Maybe ask him is he's had kids, how old he was when he had them... all this of course after getting to know him.

I wouldn't contact him directly yet. Get to know him a bit more first. If everything still fits in. Tell your mum, see what she says. I mean you have a right to know where he is and who he is right?

How would she take the news in your opinion?

But if it is him, then he will know before me because to talk to him he has to accept me as a facebook friend. And im sure he would recognise my name :s

Try it then, chat to him a bit more. Don't go blurting it out though, if it turns out that he's not your dad then he would find it uncomfortable.

I would simply email him first. If that doesn't work, tell someone to help you.

If he isn't your dad he will understand. If he his your dad, then hey! You found your dad.
