Mum kills and eats newborn baby before trying to kill herself

A mum chopped off her newborn son’s head and ate parts of his body in a horrific killing that has stunned America.

Otty Sanchez, 33, decapitated her three-and-half-week-old son Scott and mutilated his body. The gruesome discovery was made by Sanchez’s mother, who found her daughter cradling her baby’s body without his head.

Police recovered a sword, machete and kitchen knife from the house in Texas.

Sanchez later told detectives that she killed her son after the devil told her to do it. She had also stabbed herself several times with a kitchen knife on Sunday.

Her aunt, Gloria Sanchez, said: “Otty didn’t mean to do that. She was not in her right mind.” Sanchez has been charged with capital murder.

I heard from other sources she was in and out of psychiatric wards and even when she was released, she was still loopy. She presumably had to be on some sort of meds but her family members did comment that they were worried over her mental well-being. I think it was post-partum depression and psychosis.
