Not at all.
Everyone makes it sound terrible, but it's just as bad as middle school.
Don't worry. :P

Well what are you worried about?

I would say you should be a bit worried. High school is a VERY different place. You will see some VERY different things.

Yes, to be honest, you should be...nervous. Not necessarily worried.

Well you shouldn't be worried. Nervous, maybe, because you'll be meeting new people and teachers. But there is definitely nothing to be worried about. I found my freshman year (going to be a sophomore this year) to be amazing.

You'll be meeting new people and new teachers, as someone said, and you're going to be in a completely different building, but after all the initial shock, you'll get used to it.

I was afraid of starting secondary school (same thing as high school), but it took me about 2-3 months to settle into it all, and I admit I was still missing primary school a lot. It was a big change, seeing as my secondary school didn't have lockers, I had to get used to carrying my jacket and backpack around, and we were no longer having classes in the one room, so I had to get used to going to different teachers and different rooms as well. I got lost a few times, and I often accidentally left my equipment behind in other classes.

Just make as many new friends as you can as soon as possible, or if some of your old friends are starting there, keep with them.

I'm starting Sixth Form (equiv. to the last two years of high school), and although it's pretty much the same school, I'm going to be needing to get used to less people and my friends leaving, seeing as they're all going to college, and the courses I'll be doing will be a lot harder, so I'll be getting more homework, more researching to do and harder exams. I'm going from a bigger thing to a smaller thing, but it's scary nonetheless. But the change won't be as big as starting secondary school was.
