Miles stretch between us
and i'm standing in the light
swaying in the breeze
never losing sight
This field of such beauty
tall grass and stunning shades
all blend into the next
several reds to gorgeous jades
and yet your so far away
The trees and shadows overcast
and as the field turns brown
The lights fade, beauty doesn't last.
I walk in the direction
where I last saw your face
But the field becomes rugged
and i'm losing my pace
The trees stand together
like an unbreakable wall
I scream out your name
and the leaves begin to fall
Their greens turned to black
and they're chipping apart
carried away in the wind
like my dying heart
The clouds are rolling in
rain falls like shards of glass
and i'm choking on the fumes
as this storm doesn't pass
Stumbling over rotten logs
into the darkest blacks
Searching for you, my life
I need your love back
Convered in dirt, I fall
into an open space
looking up and seeing you
no expression on your face
High off the wilted ground
Tangled in vines so thick
I scream your name,
and your eyes open quick
Your blue-gray eyes stare
and your mouth is ajar
I smile up at you
I traveled so damn far
You slip from the vines
and fall towards me
the air carries you
so gently
I reach out my arms,
and you float above me
You lift me up
We feel so free
You don't let go of my hand
as we float into the bluest sky
looking down on my field
Sheer beauty from way up high
The shades are back
and so many more
they strike every corner
from shore to shore
without you, my life
is just a dieing mess
but since I found you once again,
it's been a great success
The miles now are gone again
and my world is at calm
I can finally breath again
my heart had felt like a timebomb
Now my worries have faded
into the rising sun
and as it's warmth spreads
our day has just begun
the sky glows red,
and i look at you
you squeeze my hand
and I know it's true
we've had our battles
but none are lost
because we won't give up
no matter what words are tossed
Now trust me when i say
that my world is dead
without you by my side
or your voice inside my head
Until the day I die
