Tighten your grip
on the fine barbedwire
your hopes are for nothing
and they keep getting higher
Don't dare let go,
from such a height
you don't want to fall
when ground isn't in sight
hands getting tighter
trying to renew your grip
blood slides down your arms
you're starting to slip
you close your eyes tight
and scream out his name
like so many times before
it sounds just the same
it echos into nothing
and your hopes just grow
when nothing is left
you won't let go
The barbed wire cuts deeper
and you cringe in pain
but this is worth everything,
all the hurt you obtain
As the days go by
your hands slip more
but you won't let go
no matter how sore
you cry out for him
and still don't let go
you're tears fall into streams
as the blood from your hands flow
You can't help it
you've been through alot
your hands begin to slip
you fall from that spot
into the clouds
towards a hazy abyss
the ground doesn't arrive
as the air zooms by in a hiss
You stop abruptly
as he clings to the wire
so much farther down than yours
your hopes were higher
He didn't let go
He screamed your name, too
and when he didn't get a reply
He didn't know what to do
As you looked into his eyes
everything became clear
the ground came into view
and erased your fear
He slowly let go,
but held onto your hand
you fell together
and floated toward land
Landing so softly
into a field of peace
you grasped eachother tightly
the pain coming to a seise
He wispers your name
and you reply
you walk together
until the day you die.
