All penis' are differnt, so when you get an erection, they move differently than others. It is normal for your penis to go "up instead of outward". You are normal.

I have only seen three erections, but they were each different as far as where they pointed, so there's probably a lot of variety out there. Mine is pretty much straight out, and it angles up a little bit above horizontal if I'm really hard. But one of my friends angles up about 45 degrees, and the other friend's I saw angled up probably 60 or 70 degrees plus his shaft curved up more from that so the tip was almost against his abs. So yeah, there are probably all sorts of angles and curves out there.

A lot of guys are like you, and I would not be worried at all. If anything, what you have is a lot more convenient as your erection is not very noticeable and a lot easier to hide. While most fellows' erections do go outward it doesn't mean that you are abnormal if your erection goes slightly different. You are fine, and you are just in the minority of guys and nothing more.
