I stick with dell computers all around and love their products

My old gateway had a battery go bad so i tossed it as the warrenty would not cover it and got a dell

another thing to watch out for is the "memory effect " in those batteries...they say some have the effect and some dont but i really think they all do

make sure you dont keep the battery plugged in all the time and only charge it when it goes almost dead all the way...

as for universal batterys...you cant get them, the dell batts wont work with gateway or any other laptops..they do this for a reason
