Basically I tried installing Sims 2 on my laptop, but installed the actual program onto an external hardrive. That worked fine, then I installed nightlife, and while loading it comes up with a message saying "The application has crashed, it will now terminate" The laptop should be able to run it (its an Acer Aspire and all the system requirements match up.) yet I get that error message, I don't have any CC installed, so its nothing to do with that, does anybody know why it keeps crashing like that? And how I could fix it? Thanks. (btw, the laptop is vista, if thats anything to do with it all, but it all works fine on my computer, which is also vista, but i'm never really on that, so i'd rather it work on my laptop.)

First step, Make sure your system is up-to-date. Second Step, If you're unsure check Windows Update. Step Three, Follow my lead: Start > (Search) dxdiag (Then press enter and click "Yes" (If its the first time opening it) > Then goto Display, Check its model, version, firmware and date. Step Four, Who ever made the graphics card goto their site and check for updates, which can be located in their Download section. If you're unsure, just say the Model and Version of your graphics and I'll get you the correct link.
