Lots of people do this. I think if you did it more then you'd get used to it. Probably because using the bathroom is a private thing, to me. That's probably it for you.

I agree with the replies above. This is normal and I'm the same.

i actually don't mind public urinals, but sometimes you have to ask yourself why do people design such things so stupidly that eveyone can see anyone's dick !! if i see open urinals i don't use them probably cause of the problem you experience (i think it happens when we are shy) however when i am in school, i tend to be more comfortable with such urinals (my school has the really old metal ones which are all connected) probably it's because i feel more comfortable with people around my age instead of much older man being able to see my log :)

I'm the same sometimes, especially if some guy comes and stands right at the next one. It sucks. Some places in France the men's urinals aren't even screened off cos you're not supposed to care who sees!

in school were we used to have open showers there was one basic rule "don't look if you do not want to be looked at" i guess it might aply to this french sitiuation haha. i try to use this option when i have no choise but to use open urinals but i still feel shy lol

You're just getting embarrassed and nervous. It's ok lots of men have that same problem and I'm the same way so I usually just go to the toilet stall. It's more private that way.

Ya, this happens to me all the time too. You're just getting nervous or something. It is annoying though. But usually if I go into a stall, I can pee easily.

Itīs an anxiety disorder called paruresis. It can be cured with therapy.

Skip the urinal and go to the stall.

Personally, I hate taking a leak when there are other people at the urinals but I just do it anyways because you gotta let it out. If it really bothers you, then go to one of the stalls or hold it and just be done with it.

It's definitely normal. I rarely use urinals for that reason.

It's the power of the mind! Performance anxiety, modesty, whatever you call it, it's in your head, and it's very powerful, even overpowering the urge to urinate. Remember that the next time you hear someone talk about how strongly they feel about something and how it can interfere with life.
It's funny how guys are expected to perform on demand, even when it comes to urination, yet the lessons we all learn about modesty and such would seem to clearly dictate a more sensitive, rational approach, like stalls. The same sensibility and courtesy that's afforded girls.
Go to the stall, and forget about it.

you're fine mate. i don't use them either, besides blokes shaking them and tucking them back in is gross. at least in private you can use tissue and water to wipe yourself

I used to always get an erection when I used a urinal. So from now on I'm always a stall guy. The 17 year olds peeing beside me was just too tempting. lol

I have the same problem. Don't worry, it's normal to be embarrassed or even a little shy. I always use stalls.

It's normal, I went to the movies with some friends and after we went to the bathroom and well me and this other friend of ours peed in the urinals but he didn't. He tried in a stall but all were full so after like 5 minutes he finally used the urinal (the one next to the wall)... I gues sit's just being shy, idk

My dad had a good ol' rant about this subject. He pointed out that it was very animalistic and then rose the fact that women arent expected to squat around a hole or something along those lines. He then went on to moan about the downfall of society and how corrupt some people become. blah blah. i think i fell asleep at that point since we were in the car :P

It happens to me to. I actually just don't like public bathrooms for lots of reasons. Is there anybody else here who just holds it and tries to make it home? I basically only use a public bathroom if it's an emergency and I have no choice.

i use the stalls because id freeze up at the urinals when ppl were next to me. i was like "dammit get away from me". it had nothing to do with their junk..i just didn't like being near them when i was doing my bizz.

Glad that I'm not alone. Last summer I went to a concert and I tried at 2 different bathrooms filled with people (if I can't piss then I just pretend I did) then spent 10 minutes searching for a random bathroom which doesn't have anyone, and finally found one like in a area that seems like an employee only area. I like my privacy, but I hope this is just a puberty thing.

I get the same thing... I can use urinals fine if noone is around, but if someone else is in there, I get all nervous and it's like my bladder just locks up and refuses to pee. I try to force myself to use them when I can though haha.

It may relate to your way of being brought up and your conscience, like being watched or embarrassed etc. Don't worry you will get used to it.

Its weird cause i normally dont worry about these kind of things and it seems kind of silly to me to be all self conscious about it with friends at the urinals but be fine with being naked with them when we are changing and stuff. i dont know. i used stall throughout my childhood and only just started using urinals more often. and even now i still dont use them that much.

i don't get that problem much - but just imagine that everyone else is feeling the same way and realise that they manage - this will help conqour the nerves. Don't be pervy but look at other men's pee falling into the urinal. Try to realize that if they are being that open about peeing near you, you can be just as open round them.
