I can't see why all the girls in my English class thought this was such an awesome movie. It was incredibly cliche'd and cheesy. And why were all the songs pop? No one likes pop anymore! It died when Brittney Spears started wearing, er, NOTHING for her music videos.
Disney hasn't made anything good for a while. Like anyone intelligent is going to like The Shaggy Dog.

alot of musicals tend to have slightly pop-ish music...probably not as cheesy as disney but hey...ITS DISNEY WE"RE TALKING ABOUT HERE!!! they're ALWAYS slightly cheesy....thier mostly for kids anyway...or people that have never heard musicals before...etc

Lol, I tend to rant about Disney a lot, but that's because Disney tends to annoy me a lot. Like getting rid of all their cell-animation studios so they can invest all their money into making really stupid computer animation films!! Yes, I said films.
But the only thing worse than Disney is Disney Channel.

I don't like those types of movies, and to be honest, I really don't like the Disney Channel, because all of their stuff..is corny, and just too...'goodie' for my thoughts.. Lol.
But, I told my sisters I'd watch High School Musical with them, because they asked..and..I really, really liked it. I didn't think I would...but I did. The songs..are..yes, sometimes a little corny, but I thought it was the best movie that the Disney Channel, mates had ever made.
Oh, and the girls in your English class probably fancied 'Troy'..he's cute. xD
But, it wasn't that bad...
Not exactly my type of music, nor my kind of movie..but...I'd watch it again, and again if it was on..

Okay to starty off every single girl in my school loves Troy (Zac Efron). Second of all i think disney needs to stick to what there good at. Hercules, Little Mermaid, and all old Disney animation movies. Ohhh i used to love those

Heh... I found Troy's Dad, (Bart Johnson) and Troy's best friend, (Corbin Bleu) to be even more hot than Zac Efron. Naughty me! lol

Ugh, if only more girls said other first things about movies than about some actor in it being hot.
I think it's very cliche'd which immediately made me dislike it. Who says that atheletes can't do the school musical? Half the people in my school's play are atheletes too! Plus the theater teacher lady, being all British and "The theater never waits for anybody! and stuff. Like you're EVER going to have a theater teacher like that... cliche'd and very stupid. I also dislike pop, which every single song in the movie was, so... And that theater geek guy whose sister was a real b*tch, whenever he sang he scrunched up his face like he was in pain and it was very unnatractive to look at.

I only liked one song from the movie, which was that "We're All in This Together" song. It's really catchy and the choreography to that scene was very good, but the song being in that movie was bad. I mean, it doesn't fit the rest of the movie at all!

Hehe, my brother made me record and watch that movie with him.
Truthfully I kinda liked it, I thought it was really good for a childrens Disney movie.

I'll continue to criticize it. The girl who sang the song for the audition with Troy was a terrible actress. She was pretty bad...

How was she bad?

When her friends showed her the video of Troy saying that the audition and the girl herself weren't important to him, she was just looking down, her expression was so blank and unbelievable... and then when she said her last line before she sang her difficult-to-bear solo song, she was smiling... why?

Yeah... while the movie had so many bad parts (IMHO) the last song "We're All In This Together" was pretty good, especially the dancing. But it ended cheesy when they were all in the line with their arms on each other's shoulders...

The time I saw it, I liked it. Now, well I don't. Not serious enough. It's a fun movie for kids, but I just think I grew out of it.
