What do you think the worst team in sports is?

I have to say the most embarrassing team in the 4 major U.S. sports is the Washington Nationals. The managment is a joke, drafting with the number one pick they pick a pitcher never called him yet, lost 102 games last year as of 7/20 they are 26-66 worst record in baseball by 11 games, only 40% of the stadium is filled each game, they signed a 16yr pitcher who said he was 20, front office people pocketing money and the famous natinals incident there the jerseys were spelled wrong missing the "O".

L.a.Clippers 2nd rate to lakers, and terrible drafting, bad managment
Oakland Raiders- no winning record in 7 years 16-71
Detroit Lions- 0-16 last year

The Wexford hurling team. But few people here will actually know what that is :P. But since I'm from the area, I'd have to say the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals are pretty awful.

Ya gotta go with Detroit here. They were terrible last year and Stafford won't make an immediate impact.

Toronto Maple Leafs. They are just consistent in suckage.

Washington Redskins, I am disappoint. How ONE coach could fuck it all up. I'm glad that Zorn was taken out of the coaching job. Even better, he was fired after the last game and now we got Mike Shannahan as head coach. 'Skins were the worst in football this year.

Worst in baseball would be...a tie. For me, it's a mix between the Reds and Nationals. I'd really love to say the Nationals being a Reds fan, but the Reds pretty much got screwed sideways. Another team that I question myself as to why I am a fan of.

Finally, basketball. Hard to pick since I don't usually watch basketball as much as I used to. Looking at the standings now, I can safely say that the Nets (Eastern) and Timberwolves (Western) are the worst right now. But I don't keep up, so can't expect much of anything from me on basketball.

It's true. :(

Though definitely not close to some other underachievers in other sports.

The poll aged, yeah I would say right now.

NFL. St. Louis Rams get them out of the league they are awful and an embarrassment. If any team needs to completely clean house its them. Blow up the roster and rebuild, and fire the GM + Entire Coaching staff
NBA. New Jersey Nets, they are on pace to break the record for the worst season ever in NBA history
NHL. Toronto Maple Leafs, its a shame to see a storied franchise be awful.

And for baseball, still the nationals. you have a beautiful stadium but suck and have awful management.

Yes, because they need to fire every single personnel on the team, coaching staff, and the general manager. You do realize that if they do, no one will come to play for them? Besides, the Rams have been embarrassments ever since Warner left. Still have an old Kurt Warner jersey somewhere...

NBA. New Jersey Nets, they are on pace to break the record for the worst season ever in NBA history.

Although I don't follow basketball as much as I used to, like back in 2005-07, I can still remember when the Nets were a good team. What happened?

NHL. Toronto Maple Leafs, its a shame to see a storied franchise be awful.

Hockey lulz. Really, a lot of storied franchises happen to go through this. The Redskins in the NFL and the Reds in MLB. Maple Leafs are no different. Hey, at least they aren't the LA Kings

And for baseball, still the nationals. you have a beautiful stadium but suck and have awful management.

I'll say this much, the MLB should have never thought about reviving the Washington D.C. team. The Senators, as they were once called, were a great team. Players like Frank "Hondo" Howard were just once in a life time. I think the mistake came with the two following points:

1. Getting Felipe Lopez and Adam Dunn from the Reds in 2006 (or was it 2005?).
2. Tearing down RFK Stadium.

To address the first point, Lopez and Dunn were both very satisfied with the Reds. However, the team did not find them suitable players for whatever reason and let them go. Secondly, WHY DID THEY TEAR DOWN RFK!?!?!?!?! That was one of the best stadiums ever. So many great concerts and sport events went on in that stadium. They tear it down and built a shiny new stadium, which is great, but nothing will compare to ol' RFK.

Remember, it's not always about having a nice shiny stadium or good looking players, it's the talent you showcase and how it's used.

Leeds used to be so good, when I grew up watching football, Leeds were top 3 in the Premiership every year. I remember them having Rio Ferdinand, Alan Smith, Lee Bowyer, Johnathon Woodgate, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Robbie Fowler.

If there is money players will come, Anyway look at the ravens they fired the entire coaching staff after the 2007 season. And they been to the playoffs back to back years since.

Also get the team out of St. Louis, and move them somewhere else for a fresh start.

Although I don't follow basketball as much as I used to, like back in 2005-07, I can still remember when the Nets were a good team. What happened?Well, they were in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007 lost to The Cavaliers then fell of the face of the Earth. Last year they weren't that bad and barely missed the playoffs. Then they traded Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson and anyone else good. And now they are here.

Secondly, WHY DID THEY TEAR DOWN RFK!?!?!?!?! That was one of the best stadiums ever. So many great concerts and sport events went on in that stadium. They tear it down and built a shiny new stadium, which is great, but nothing will compare to ol' RFK.When a team is bad they will do anything to get people to come, and the Nats decided that building a new stadium would bring people to the games (and it hasn't).

Hmm, this is true. There are players who are more in it for money then they are to play. Must remember though that whatever your stats are determines how much you get paid. The Ravens could pull that off anyway because they had a very smart owner and general manager. Going back to back to the playoffs is just a positive to all of that.

I can't see the team moving out of St Louis. It would be just as expensive, if not more, to move the team than sign new players and coaches. There are many cities that should have a football team, such as Los Angeles. There were rumors this past season that the Raiders were heading back down south to LA. As great as that would be, never happened.

Well, they were in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007 lost to The Cavaliers then fell of the face of the Earth. Last year they weren't that bad and barely missed the playoffs. Then they traded Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson and anyone else good. And now they are here.

THAT was when I really stopped watching. Seeing the Nets trade their best players was a disgrace, especially seeing Kidd and Carter leave. I never liked Jefferson that much.

When a team is bad they will do anything to get people to come, and the Nats decided that building a new stadium would bring people to the games (and it hasn't).

A new stadium should only be built when the current one is too old to maintain. As great as RFK Stadium was, it was in a massive state of disrepair. It only made sense to tear it down. However, it's the Yankee Stadium thing. They tear it down when they could have kept it. In the past three years, three major venues for sports and concerts have been torn down. They are The Spectrum (Philadelphia), Yankee Stadium (New York), and RFK Stadium (Washington DC). I would have liked to see all three be made into history museums, especially Yankee Stadum and The Spectrum.

Concerning fan attendance, shiny things don't always work. Something like fan days or giveaways work. Advertising is also a major media to use but no one DOES it.

I voted for the Raiders because Al Davis is a nut! He hired a crazy coach who has a history of violence and the team stinks! They USED to be good! Will the raiders ever win in my lifetime. (No, I'm not a Raiders fan, I'm a Giants fan)
