I don't think alcohol stunts growth but it can affect development, particularly of the brain. If it's just once or twice a week it should be okay. But you mention that you can't stop drinking which could be worrying. Try and cut down and get some help if you think you have a drinking problem.

I googled the drinking limits in the UK. Men are only supposed to drink 21 units a week. However, you are not allowed to drink in california under the age of 21. So If you are 21, then 21 units is fine.
Commen sence tells me that the reason you are allowed to drink 21 units a week is that It won't damage your body much. However, I could be wrong. If you are under 21, I recommend you stop drinking/lower you're drinking now, as it is illegal for you to be drinking. If you are over 21, I recommend you really watch what you drink as drinking can cause fertility problems, weight gain, kidney problems, mental health problems and many, many more.
HERE (http://tinypic.com/r/m94kf4/3) are a list of drinks and the amount of units in them. Please read this and take in the information. This way you will know how much to drink.
If you're friends are the ones who are taking you out on these nights out twice a week, cut down to only once a week. Or once every 2 weeks. Make sure you're friends understand why, or they are not good friends. Good luck!

Well, there's conflicting evidence on the amount that's OK, although most of it is based on adults, who are done developing. And there might be some cultural issues, too.
However, let me side step that issue, and address one that might be more important for you personally, regardless of whatever 'age' or location might be deemed OK.
And that's your statement that you 'cannot stop'.
Regardless of the amount that your body can handle Ok, what that statement says is that you've exceeded your mind's ability to handle/control it. So, in your case, it's time to take a look at your drinking, and maybe stop it entirely, if not curtail it significantly. It sounds like you cannot control it, which is the definition of 'out of control'.
The most important thing about drinking is judgement, the ability to recognize when you've had enough, to show some self awareness and control. In the absence of that, regardless of the actual amount, what you're most likely is a problem drinker, which will probably get worse with time.

Underage drinking is bad for you, your body will not be as developed as an adult, so will find it harder to break down alcohol.
The fact that you are questioning that you are drinking to much means you probably are, I would suggest that you either stop drinking till you are old enough, or at least cut back.
Don't think that drinking the unit recomondations for an adult applies to a child.
