Not so recently, my nipples(not breasts) have swelled. They are tender, etc. But I just noticed the tips of the nipples, like the center that stick out a bit, looks red, almost like a scar. Part of puberty or problem?

In puberty your nipples stick out more. It's meant to happen.

Puberty and hormones cause the breast tissue to swell. This is normal, and will wear off.
And no, your not growing breasts.

I realize these facts.

It hurts, too, more then usual.

During puberty males begin to see a slight increase in breast tissue. Your nipples begin to stick out more and will feel tender for swhile, but that will wear off eventually.

It's all a part of puberty.

Jesus Christ.
I know that fat accumulates under my breasts.
the tips of the nipples, like the center that stick out a bit and looks red, like a scar
It's not that. I know I'm not growing breasts, and not to be arrogant but I'm a bit smarter then most kids and I know these facts. I want to know why the center of my nipple, where the milk would come out of a female, looks like a scar and hurts.
Trauma, can you be more specific.

That enlightened me. Good thing I didn't post it in the puberty forum, because I might have known that already.

A year :P
Just had it a month or two ago. He already told me about the fat/swelling/ tenderness, I don't know what the scar like things are.

I have the exact same thing actually. Sometimes there are certain types of shirts that irritate that area for me and make a scar looking thing. They're usually the ones where you can feel the printing of the shirt on the inside of the shirt, so if you've worn one of those (I hope my description is clear) lately than that might be why. And if not then the scars may be closings. Like since girls can excrete milk and guys can't maybe guys' nipples have to close up and some of us get scars (just a theory)

I like that theory. I was wearing a rash guard in the ocean, so maybe that did it (coupled with the fact I was in the ocean)

JESUS!
Aren't they calcium deposits?
I remember this from sex ed. Or it's extra hormone clumps.
It's all part of puberty. I had the same thing. It goes away.

Yea, it is part of puberty, but if they truely "hurt" (which is subjective) there is a condition through which a doctor can prescribe drugs for (my friend had it, I just forget what it is called... CRAP!). Anyways, if your nipples start to "hurt" more (or to the point that the pain is distracting you from daily activities) I would see a doctor, the drugs apparently get rid of the pain/swelling (according to my friend).
(btw, this could have been a totally different condition, but they had "extensive" swelling and pain in their nipples... so idk? hope this helps?)

*smacks head*
It's more of a scar then swelling. It goes away so I'm not too worried right now.

The same situation with me, I hate when they hurt me. Anyway, It's completely natural and in a few years it'll disappear.

The reason you get them is because during puberty you produce lots of testosterone. The body instinctively tries to counter act this huge amount of testosterone by producing oestrogen (yes the female sex hormone). Some have more oestrogen produced than others and so you have swelling of the breasts as that is what happens to girls. They become tender because there are 2 huge balloons trying to swell out you chest. But don't worry it will subside for boys because there isn't enough oestrogen and there is too much testosterone. The scarring look is because your nipples are being pushed out so the skin is stretching slightly more than usual. But as everyone has said, don't worry it will soon subside :D

Yah, every one is repeating the same thing I already knew. My question was answered and I don't need anybody else commenting without reading what I have said several times.
