I have tried numerous internet browsers... I cant Decide on a favorite...firefox is always crashing on me and hates you tube... i know many love it but i guess it just doesn't agree with me... safari hasn't liked playing video for me and also frequently crashes but i liked the private browsing mode that it had available. and IE has been slowish and idk i haven't liked it. I havent tried chrome, that was what i was thinking of trying next.
Anyways, I want to hear what you all think of the different browsers available. vote, explan, reccomend etc...
*UPDATE* I just started using chrome and so far it is my favorite, we will see if i still like it in couple weeks. I feel it combines stability and many of my favorite touches from other browsers like private browsing (incognito mode Google calls it) I even think its better then safari's version because you can have an incognito window open and a regular window all at once so that you can multi task. I also like that if you type something into the address bar that is not formatted like a url it will automatically turn it into a search with your default search provider.

I used to use IE, till a freind recommended Firefox.
And I have to say it is a major improvement. Everything loads much faster, and the very few times it crashes, it reloads without me having to close the browser. It's very user friendly to me, and has a spellchecker! Not to mention that my connection blow's ass, and it is able to keep my stuff saved should my connection die.

I used to love Avant browser, but it's only downfall is that it runs on IE and acts as an add-on pretty much. So I switched to firefox and found all the add-ons that would make firefox work like avant (mouse gestures mainly)
so firefox for me

With a very small addon (IEPro), IE does that too.

(I would also like to note that, IE did all those above things before Firefox/Chrome did)
I use IE simply because I prefer it over the other bloated browsers (Besides Opera, though, I just can't get used to Opera).
Firefox: Takes at least 2-3 seconds for me to get a usable browser window open. Too long IMO.
IE will open and have a usable browser window in less than 1 second.
I also noticed that Firefox can't compensate if the designer makes an error in the page code. Such as misspelling something. Whereas IE /can/ compensate for errors in page coding.

IE is way to slow for my taste and it's more susceptible to virus, firefox crashes way to much, safari is stupid(IMO), and Avant just didn't keep my attention. I LOVE GOOGLE CHROME. It's fast, has a great design, easy to manage, and is just great.

Your compromise of security and speed for one minor detail is rather perplexing. 0_o
I use Opera mostly, and always will. I've found it to always perform best for me, and I just like its layout and look without customizing it at all. Plus I've never encountered a virus while using it, which I cannot say the same for IE, FF, or Chrome (Though that one was mainly my fault :P)

Who uses IE....
Safari is the fastest. Opera is thee most versatile for torrents. FireFox is getting better. Chrome is a copy of Safari, except slower. Those are the only ones I have used.

Safari doesnt support WYSIWYG.
And internet explorer also has a private browsing mode called: InPrivate Browsing. So i said IE.
Firefox hates me.

Firefox is the best hands down. If you're having a problem with it you need to clean uninstall it (Basically manually delete all "Mozilla" folders on your system) and download the latest and make sure the plugisn are up-to-date on your system.. Oh and stupid but.. Your system also needs to be well treat as well; otherwise crashing will occur no matter what you use.

When I tried chrome when it was in beta, I wasn't that impressed. I plan to give it another go now that it's out of beta seeing as so many seem quite impressed with it :)

What the fuck are you? Some sort of IE fan boy? Say that the IE can do all the things that Firefox and Chrome can do yet you haven't used Chrome(or at least I don't see you mentioning it). Can IE use an incognito window? No. Can IE load as quickly as Chrome? No. Is IE as safe as Chrome for Firefox. No. Can you customize IE like you can Firefox or Chrome? No. Simple matter of fact here is that Chrome has IE beaten across the board with Firefox trailing behind it.

What the fuck are you? Some sort of IE fan boy? Well this is mature...
No I'm not. I'm just someone who doesn't need excess software to do the things I need done.
Say that the IE can do all the things that Firefox and Chrome can do yet you haven't used Chrome(or at least I don't see you mentioning it).
I have used it, I didn't really have an opinion of it, so I didn't include it in the post.
Can IE use an incognito window? No.
Yes, it's called 'In Private Browsing' in IE.
Can IE load as quickly as Chrome? No.
This depends on your computer, and how much you use each program, as vital program files are loaded with the OS. So, if you use IE more, it will load faster than a clean Firefox/Opera/Chrome install. And vise-versa.
Is IE as safe as Chrome for Firefox. No.
With the latest security patches, and not browsing like a dumbass? Yes.
Also, Firefox is open-source, which, if you have the source code of a program, you can easily find vunerabilities in it, then impliment them.
Not sure about Chrome, I have no clue if it's open-source or not, or what current security issues have arisen around it.
Can you customize IE like you can Firefox or Chrome? No.
Damn, You mean I can't have my back button a kitten?
Simple matter of fact here is that Chrome has IE beaten across the board with Firefox trailing behind it.
My first post in this thread (The one where you called me a 'fan boy') was simply pointing out that his reasons for liking Firefox, and dis-liking IE were in-valid, as IE had all the features, one way or another.
I am in no way saying IE is /better/ than other browsers. Saying that is like a Windows vs Linux vs Mac debate. They all have their pros & cons.
It just boils down to preference, and what works best on your computer.

Firefox has massive customization and great add-on's, the only reason people don't know much about Firefox or like IE better is because IE is standard on all Microsoft operating systems. If it was choose you browser when you first setup or Mozilla had ad campaigns, IE would be one of those second rate browsers like marathon and opera.

IE- Sloooooooow and very prone to viruses. It's long gone in the trash.

Well when you download something, it scans it or viruses..
That does not come with FX though, FX integrates with your security suite to scan it. Firefox does not scan it alone.
IE does the same.

I am currently trying out Google Chrome. Here is my rank of Firefox and Chrome according to my criteria.
Speed: Chrome, hands down. It loads pages much faster and pops up faster after opening it.
Customability: Firefox. Chrome doesn't have useful add-ons like Firefox.
Interface: While Chrome may look interesting at first, it becomes plain because it doesn't have any useful options or add-ons. I'd have to give this one to Firefox.
Easiness: Chrome is much easier to use and handle than Firefox.
My conclusion: While Chrome is still in the making, it's way too plain. It may be fast, but it lacks the customability I'd want. I would recommend Chrome to children, to start learning about the internet.
Firefox has the necessary things I expect in an internet browser. While it may be slower, the tools are much more useful than Chrome's. I would recommend Firefox for any users who want to have tools and add-ons.

With Firefox I've had much less problems, and I got into it mainly because IE was garbage. Firefox even blocks certain websites that have been flagged, and tells you why they were flagged. Also, I'm pretty sure but no positive, that firefox doesn't allow as much unsafe data to pass through.

I like Safari best. It's clean, simple, it's got all the features I need, it's fast, it has a spell checker, top sites is useful, and I couldn't live without the bookmarks bar.
My second favorite is Chrome, it's fast, clean and simple.
I loathe FireFox with every fiber of my being. I don't know why, but the look of it, the multitude of plugins it tries to make me download, it's slow, and overall I just don't like it.
Internet explorer is the best for compatibility, but it's quite slow, it's got all the features you don't need and none of the ones you do, and it just doesn't cut it when I'm trying to multitask. If you don't have any particular needs, IE is fine.
I've never tried the others but I've heard that Opera is pretty good. I might give it a try some day.
