Poll question : Now a days, do u think that a piecing in the right ear still symbolizes homosexuality?

im not really all that worried about it, but i just got both my ears pierced like a week ago and ythe thought just poped in to my head that some people might find this strange. not that i care if they do or no. im wierd, and i like it :P

I think it is all about symbolism. It's like how sticking up your middle finger at someone means fuck you. The actual finger is utterly pointless, it is society that has formed symbolism of it.

Historically, beginning in the late 1960's and continuing until the early 1980's, gay or homosexual men would signify to one another that they were gay by wearing an earring in their right ear, as seen by openly gay celebrities Elton John and George Michael. This practice faded away during the 1980's as piercing became more and more popular with both gay and straight men who began piercing not just one but, in many cases, both ears so that today the distinction is essentially meaningless.

basically, this is a rumor. Nobody really cares and it should be meaningless - getting a piercing should not show your sexual orientation and as a gay person myself I don't pick up on junk like that.
