I just had some surgery done in my genital area to fix some varicose veins in my scrotum. It has been tender since and i can still feel the numbness and see the swelling around the incision.

Ive had the sensation to pee, and have struggled a little bit. I have manged to kinda force it out but not with too much force, but it hasnt effortlessly come out yet. Am i just being impatient and should wait it out?

My thoughts are the tenderness and the freezing injection they used are playing a role in my struggles.

I would recommend you to speak to your doctor rather than ask an internet forum!

Generally all surgery will require recovery time till you are back to normal however there may be complications etc, speaking to a medical professional is your best option here.

Hope it all works out for you :).

Agreed, ask your doctor. This could be normal during the initial recovery, and nothing to be concerned about, but double-checking is good. :)

Well its the next day and some of the swelling and numbness has gone, and I can now pee normally. What a relief

I am glad that you are doing better, but you really need to follow up with your surgeon to discuss your issue. You do not necessarily have to see him/her, and just leave a message with his/her office so that he/she can call you back.

Did your doctor give you any post-operative instructions and/or a checklist of things for which to look out?
