If you are asking more specifically about what happens to your privates, your doctor will ask you to unzip, and then s/he will just fell your penis and testicles for any abnormalities. It doesn't last for more than a couple seconds.

Also, if you are worried about the boner aspect, just to the trusty dusty "hard math problem" solution. Think of a hard math problem in your head and solve it while s/he is felling the penis so as to take your mind off of the stimulation.

This pretty much is exactly what happens. Some doctors do different things. There are certain things here that my doc doesn't do but there doesn't seem to be anything he does that isn't listed here.

Well as far as things go with your penis, the doctor will lightly feel it plus your balls to see if there is anything wrong. At least that was the case with me. It felt extremely awkward, especially because the doctor was female! Plus I had lots of pubic hair (I hadn't had my first shave yet), and that topped the cake!
