I used to lie to them about everything. Where I'd been. Who I'd been with. What classes I had attended. The list goes on.
Nowadays I just tend to omit things.
I was completely candid with my mum in January and got rejected for it so I intend on omitting a lot when I talk to her.
Dad is a lot better and I only omit things if I know he wouldn't approve.

I only lie to my parent if I really want something, or really need something, and it doesn't hurt anybody (usually)
Usually I tell the truth, and if I do lie, I tell the truth later when it doesn't matter anymore!

I'm not addicted to lying to my parents, I do it often, although about little things. You see I'm an only child, my parents don't really get it. They watch over me like a hawk, and are way to over protective. So say I'm going to a movie, I'm going to tell my parents I'm with guy friends only. If they find out there is a girl there they begin the interrogation. They think I'm dating a girl just because we hang out, if they found out I was at the movies with a girl they'd be like "Did you have your arm around her, did you kiss, did you buy her ticket for her and her popcorn???" It's like when your 6 and you have a crush on a girl and your parents tell everyone because they think it's cute. When your 15, it's not cute. My dad isn't as bad as my Mom...I digress. I only lie to my parents about stuff like that, oh and my online life, they wouldn't approve of that.

I hardly lie. Because I have nothing to lie about. My parents trust me. I remember my dad, he used to tell me if I got in trouble, he wants to be the first to know.

I lie when it is to my benefit, otherwise I'm quite truthful and blunt.

I try not to lie but sometimes there are things that I believe parents shouldn't know so I tend to bend the truth a bit.

I don't lie. If I did something wrong then I admit to it. If it happened in my town, they're gonna find out anyways.
Sometimes, I won't tell them something. But then they will ask me about it and say "Why didn't you ever tell me about yadda yadda yadda?" "You never asked." And they can't say anything because they know I'm right! :D

I'm not addicted at it though but sometimes i don't tell them stuff. Is that considered lying? But i rarely directly tell them something false or something i made up.

If I have no reason to lie then I am generally honest, but if I need to save myself or get out of a situation I will lie through my back teeth lol.
As with my parents, generally I do not lie to them I just don't tell them all the details, we have an unspoken agreement, if they don't want to know, don't tell them.

I don't lie a lot to my parents. If I'm doing something wrong and they ask, I'll tell them. I only lie when it works in my favor

I only lie about, which in my opinion is, my personal life and my own buisness. I know they "put a roof over my head" but I deserve my own privacy, I mean nobody asks to be brought into the world, I know they provide for me, but there a fine line between worry, and just butting in.

^^^^^I agree completely.
Except I lie about nearly anything they ask. And they believe me. Unless it won't have any chance of getting me in trouble.
Sadly I'm really good at lying. To them at least.

its installed in my personality to not lie. Especially to my mom because she is single. It breaks my heart when i do and i feel extremely gulity so I don't lie (to really anyone).

I never used to tell a lie up into I got into the sixth-seventh grade. I got addicted to lying to my mother about everything. Especially my school life. I never wanted to do any homework, or any work for that reason. I would hide my report cards and practically do everything in my power to avoid showing my mom how low my grades had plummeted. Then one day, my math teacher said she was going to call all of our parents and tell them about how we have been doing over the year.
I panicked, and thought that my mom would for sure figure out that I had been lying to her the whole time! I finally decided that it would be best if I told her before the teacher could get a hold of her, that way she wouldn't be as hurt.
I don't know how I cam across that logic, but I did.
So I fessed up to everything that I had lied to her about. She got very angry and later that day disciplined me through a spanking.
But what really get me pissed off is that that damn teacher never even fucking called anybody! And I could have gotten off the hook and never gotten that spanking!
But that is in the past, and I am actually glad that I told her. I rarely lie now, and my grades have improved in school, so I guess it ended as a good thing. The only policy I have now, is that if I want to keep something a secret, I just wont tell her about it. If she wants to figure it out, she is going to have to bring up the question.

I'll lie if it benefits me in some way or if there's someone I wish to ruin or manipulate. Or, if I can assume that lying would just make it far too hard to get what I want, then I'll go at it another way, either through a different lie or whatever other means are necessary.

I don't lie.
If i dont want them to know something i just dont tell.
^ Seconded.
I am positively the worst liar my parents know of.
Everyone can tell when I am lying, so I don't bother with it.
I'm too honest for my own good.

i dont lie to them, but if i did it would is a very good lie, that i would have planned for hours, and be a complex web of truth and lies.
but i dont have a real need to lie to them much so my lieing skills dont get used at home, so time for school: "Why dont u have ur homework?" - teacher. "well..." - me :)

I don't lie much, even when i know i will get into a little trouble i tell the truth, but when i know im going to be in so much trouble that everything goes to hell i will lie, you have to be careful lying though because your parents can lose trust in you if you lie a lot.
Wonder.

I don't speak to my parents. Only to answer questions like what do you want for dinner and things like that.

Damn, that's exactly the same for me apart from the only child part. I'm the oldest child, so I suppose it'd probably be the same.
I've just pretended over time that I've never gone out with a girl, been to a party with girls/alcohol/drugs etc. The truth just isn't worth the shitstorm my mum would kick up about it.
And the screwed up thing is, they expect me to get drunk with friends and don't care about it. Drinking's pretty much the only "parental taboo" I DON'T take part in..
But usually I'm pretty truthful; I'd rather tell them something which is going to get me in small trouble than lie about it and try to cover up.
As an example, last week my mum forbade me to smoke my hookah but when my friend came over we did it anyway, so when she came home I just admitted it. That's pretty much as far as my honesty goes though lol
