What kind of approaches to girls like? Most of the time an upfront, "hey you're very pretty," ends up in, "get the fuck out of here creeper."

Like, what would a guy have to say for you to give him a positive response. I don't want any cheezy or dirty jokes, just real genuine lines that would make a girl smile or laugh. I have some, but not all work, and I want to know what I could do just to make a good first impression.

pick up lines are dead, and your right will end up in the girl calling you creepy.
talk about something real, common interests then ask them out or whatever your goal is.

There are no standard pickup lines that work for everyone, different girls may react differently to the same line you use. Personally I don't use any kind of pick up line, they are cheesy and make you look like your lacking confidence because you had to plan something to say.

Rather than comment on a girls actual looks you might want to comment on something she is wearing eg "That's a nice dress". It is still complemantory but less personal than commenting on physical looks.

All girls will react different so it's a bit hard for us to tell, but anyways, comment on her personality and not looks, that should work.

Yes, as a girl. I absolutely hate when the first thing a guy says is "you're hot"

say anything except a look comment. It is an instant turn off.
pick up lines?
they must be delivered right, so if you know you cant, dont try.

try "hello" and perhaps, "is there some1 with you?". If not, ask, "would it be all right if i join u?". If she says "no", apologise for the intrusion and move on

Pick up lines? They don't work, with most girls that is.
I find them incredibly annoying and not to mention downright corny.

However, if there is someone you like, just begin with starting a simple conversation with them, like you would with a friend. Maybe ask her some questions to start a conversation flowing (not interrogation or anything like that :P) and try to avoid asking questions that can only be replied with a one word answer. Just be friendly and polite with a good sense of humour and you're bound to make a good impression.
