hey everyone. i've seen some posts with guys asking questions about jock straps. I've never heard of any use for them other than in playing sports. But some of the questions here seem to be about using them as regular underwear. I don't wear jock straps as underwear and don't know a single person who does. Is it some sort of European thing to wear jock straps as regular underwear?

Dont understand that, are you sure you know what a jock strap is?

In the UK cricketers wear something called a box which has a shock proof plastic part to it which goes over your dick and balls to protect you if you get hit there by a cricket ball. Thats not the same thing as a jock strap. A jock strap is just made of cloth and is more like a tight pair of briefs with the sides and back cut away.

OK, we may have an international terminology issue here.

In the UK, as I understand it anyway, a jock strap offers no protection, it just holds your dick in place. Its made of cloth and is called an Athletic Supporter, put that as a search in ebay and you'll see the type of thing.

As I mentioned before, cricketers wear something called a box, this is a sort of hard plastic cup that can be put inside a jock strap to cover the genitals and protect against a direct hit from the cricket ball. You overseas guys that havent played cricket would not appreciate just how hard a cricket ball is, and with fast bowlers bowling at over 90mph a direct hit is no laughing matter. (Crickters regularly get the bones in their fingers broken despite the fact that they wear heavily padded gloves, so imagine that force hitting you in the nuts.)

It sounds to me as if in some places the term Jock Strap includes the element of protection, as I said, thats not true here, a jock strap is just a different sort of underwear.

I've never seen a jock strap or have worn one but yes I've heard of the term before. But I think they're almost like the male version of thongs ...

You'd put a cup in it....
Oh, Bobby, I do Parkour, too, but I don't jump off buildings(yet ;)) or wear a cup. Some comfortable clothes, shoes and gloves are good.

Us americans have something like that. We simply call it a Cup. Now i know there is a difference between a cricket ball and a baseball and between the two sports but pitchers can also throw baseballs from 70 to 100 mph. Ive seen boys getting hit in the nuts from a pitch and even from a line drive off the bat. Its definatly not a laughing matter when those kids arent wearing a cup.
