Sooo..
i heard some people get tattoos to cover up self injury scars. First i was thinking that would never even work. then I saw some really cool before and after pics. Some where better than others but non the less you really couldnt see the scars. i was going to post a link to a youtube video. but not sure if i could do that. so you can go research it lol XD

On the show Miami Ink, there have been customers who were former self-harmers who requested tattoo's to cover up their scars. If you ask me, I think it's a wonderful idea and the results came out fantastically.

If you want to cover up your scars with tattoo's, my suggestion would be to ensure it's a well thought out, artistic and treasureable piece instead of a shabby one that doesn't look too good. You want something precious to replace those bad memories, not just any old something that only covers them up.

Ahah :) My arms and legs are tattooed and they cover up ALOT of my scars. Lots of reasons for having them really (and not all SI related)

Theyre all of very personal and things that helped me stop cutting. It certainly makes me think twice about doing it again. It would be like cutting over something positive in my life (My arms and legs are where I go for usually)

It's nice to give people a different reason to look at my skin!

I'm not necessarily ashamed of my scars nor desperate to hide them, but I know theyre there, why does everyone else have to! :)

I used to really want to do this. I'd thought about it a lot and had picked out at least one tatt that I wanted done over my scars.

However, I wasn't old enough to get it done at the time and have since lost my interest in it...

I've considered, but to me whatever scars I have are memories that however terrible, I never want to let myself forget. I can't force myself to forget and I don't want to. If others see them I don't care, but I can't cover them up.
