I guess I paid the price,
When I never thought twice,
But it wasn't right,
I was so polite!

It wasn't a gauche gesture,
It wasn't a misdirection,
I wasn't trying to throw
Anybody off, I was trying
To make myself sound tough...

But now I'm lost in a sea of confusion,
A vast array of aquatic delusions,
And now I'm drifting away
Into a thick mist of disillusion.

It's cold underwater,
And I can't breathe,
I have no survival kit on me,
How am I supposed to be,
How am I supposed to see
The right direction when I need...

So much more than what I have,
I said four words and they went bad,
And now my rotten, bitter past,
Is coming back to wreck my clasp
On this thick dose of reality...

And now I'm lost in a sea of confusion,
A vast array of aquatic delusions,
And now I'm drifting away
Into a thick mist of disillusion.

There is no cure when you're unsure
Of what is wrong and what you've done
To make what at once had worked alright
Broken down and without light...

Because now I'm lost in a sea of confusion,
A vast array of aquatic delusions,
And now I'm drifting away
Into a thick mist of disillusion.

I guess I paid the price,
When I never thought twice,
But it wasn't right,
I was so polite! I was so polite!
It wasn't right... No it wasn't right...
