not really a crisis, but an amazing revaluation.
last night in bed, i got to thinking, why am i here? what am i doing here? why is anything here? whats the point? is there any point? then, i thought: what if we are here just because. if you believe in god, then you say "god made us" but why did he make us? my only solution was just because. that made me happy. in fact, mind blowingly happy. there doesn't need to be a purpose does there? in fact, nothing does! ask any question. for example: "why is that piano, a piano?" and you answer. then i ask why. and for every answer i ask "why' again. see how long you can play this game. and you can end the game at any time, with just because. i find it amazing, that we exist, that anything exists, at all. it made me think, there has to be a god, at least a greater force, be cause we exist. the world is amazing, everything is amazing, just for the fact, that its there. we are here, and that is an amazing gift, greater than anything other. its a gift, that anything is here. that we can see, and touch and feel. it blows me away, and makes me so happy, i just felt absolutely content. you know why? just because.
call me crazy, but at least i exist.

Beautiful speech, but I believe its only half answered.
First off this statement, think about it, if nothing has a beginning, then you did not have a beginning meaning that you have always been, but the problem with that is, is you came from your mother, you were concieved in your mothers belly. There was your beginning, I believe you are forgetting that old riddle, 'which came first, the egg or the chicken?' C.S. Lewis made a nice answer to this, I shall paraphrase what he had said, 'often times we forget the perfect oak that the acorn came from'. All physical matter needs a beginning, and only the nonphysical can explain the physical. If you wish to go deeper I will.
Also look at your answer itself 'just because', Just because what?
I will also talk about your statement that the question 'Why?' is just a game. The question 'Why?' is not just a game with no answer, there is an answer, and the question 'just because' just leaves more unanswered questions. Your Questions have not be answered, actually quite far from it, they are nothing more than questions themselves.
Once again I will go deeper if I must.

This is a wonderful realization that took me while to get to. I realize that there doesn't have to be a reason that something is there I can be there just because it was meant to be and for no other reason. This doesn't mean there was no beggining it just mean that there doesn't have to be a reason for begging because things can beggin without needing reason.
I'm so happy you found this and I love the way you've put it into perspective

We exist because we do.
Not really a revelation, it would be a revelation if you thought something like "Oh, God made us because...." or " The beginning begins from the end of another world" etc.

"just because" is just another way of saying that there is no reason.

That sounds like what your saying is 'I couldn't find an answer so I'll just say 'just because''. =o Its the equivilant of 'there is no truth' or 'you can't know truth'.

The law of identity: P is P.
The law of noncontradiction: P is not non-P.
The law of the excluded middle: Either P or non-P
The Law of identity says that if a statement such as "It is raining" is true, then the statement is true. More generally, it says that the statement P is the same thing as itself and is different from everything else. Applied to all reality, the law of identity says that everything is itself and not something else.
The law of noncontradiction says that a statement such as "It is raining" cannot be both true and false in the same sense. Of course it could be raining in Missouri and not raining in Arizona, but the principle says that it cannot be raining and not raining at the same time in the same place.
The law of excluded middle says that a statement such as "It is raining" is either true or false. There is no other alternative
But you say 'Why am I here' and you say 'Just because' what does this answer? All you are saying is 'I am here because I am here'. But thats not what philosophy and science are about, we already know that 'we are here because we are here', we knew this from the moment of existence.

Right, this conversation needs to move to PM as it does not relate to the thread very closely nor is it really Psych Ward material.
