there is this girl that i like alot and we have been close friends sence 5th grade. and i was thinking of asking her out but im afraid that if she says no that it could mess up our friendsship. would it be wiser to just be close friends or should i try going out with her

How is your friendship at the moment, does she talk to you about other guys who she likes, is she giving you and kind of signal that she likes you?

A common thing is with long term friendships is that you see each other as too good of a friend for a relationship, you do not want to try going out with each other as it could make things awkward.

I say be close friends until you are sure that she would say yes. I mean, being a friend is probably better than being awkward enemies.

Then again, depending on her personality, she may just nicely say no and you can continue being friends. But that isn't really full proof.

I think you should flirt for a while, major flirting, see if she flirts back and if she seems liek she would date you and then just ask her. She should be partly expecting it so it shouldn't be much of a surprise anyways

ask her out mate, just don't make a big deal of it. try something like: how about going out for a coffee/dessert? anywhere that's public where she'd feel safe and where there wouldn't be a chance for u 2 lay a heavy on her. let her get used 2 ur company slowly and have her realise that ur fun 2 be with and not like the rest of blokes who can't wait to corner her and get personal.
