We all have personal likes and dislikes of music. And most of us know bands that a lot of others haven't heard. It's time to get them out into the open!

A few obscure/unknown bands I've heard of are The Stranglers (punk band with an organ), The Zombies (60's classic rock group), and Primal Static.

Chronic Future (experimental rock, technically speaking... Though they cover like every genre known to man, and are more or less a 'rap rock' group)

They had one 'big' song (Time and Time Again) but I think that's one of their worst songs tbh... But yeah, they're damn good and don't get enough respect/notice from people.

The Elders, they write all they're own stuff, but make it sound like traditional Irish music. Going to they're concert in KC over Labour Day weekend

I'm not sure how obscure these are but Red is a good metal/rock band. [only after searching them on google did I realize they're supposedly christian. haha and that's after each song from both their albums having 30+ plays each haha] Shena Ringo is cool. She Japanese so I have no idea what she's saying but really fun music. I love to dance to it alone. And Owl City is such a happy band! haha Not sure if they're very obscure though. Just new to me. :P

Why are all the obscure bands metal? :P
The Fire Theft, art rock.
Just because you think they're obscure and you're an independent person that no one understands, doesn't mean they're obscure(throwing it out there, no one's said any so far...)

I love Apocalyptica. I play the cello, I love Metallica, and this is like heaven. There original stuff is great, too, but I love Nothing Else Matters and One. There sheet music is really hard to find, though.

Red, Cannibal Corpse, and Skillet aren't that obscure.

Maybe Cannibal Corpse.

And Red certainly don't get the recognition they honestly deserve.

But Skillet certainly isn't obscure.

Agent Orange is a sick band that almost no one has ever heard of though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs6uoUybJus

The Matches are also a damn good band that don't get the recognition they deserve. I'm not sure if they're still together though. 0.o

The Futureheads are also a decent, somewhat obscure band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvEp6URPx5Q

And lastly Goodnight Nurse is pretty underrated/somewhat obscure, especially in the United States: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ35ui5iZOU

I personally love a widely hated band, Limp Bizkit (nu-metal / rapcore). I thought they were tight since I first heard Nookie for the first time last year. I always remembered Rollin', but I wasn't really old enough to enjoy it.

The Shins XD iTunes calls it Indie. Idk I just like the strange lryics they have and the strange music in general. Thats pretty much the only thing I have like that though, I started going down the rock route not long after I found that.

Opeth!

They are a progressive death metal band.
So one moment you get the really heavy death growling and simple heavy music, and all of a sudden you get soft acoustics, with amazing singing!

If you want to check out Opeth then check a song called Ghost Of Perdition, from their 2005 album Ghost Reveries.

Its awersome!
