For ORAL sex?
Disregarding flavored condoms that are used just for pleasure <3...do you feel like using condoms is necessary when giving/getting head?
I know some guys who do, I personally think it's a huge turnoff. I don't want to be sucking on latex, nor would I want to wear one. (unless it's flavored)
What do you think?

I don't think it would help much. To prevent something. So no, I don't see the point. It sounds uncomfortable, though.

Probably not for oral, as long as the semen doesn't somehow get into the vagina. But not having the semen in the partner's mouth could prevent STDs if the other has them...

Flavored condoms for 'pleasure'? You mean the taste? Wouldn't a lollipop be easier?
Condoms provide a latex barrier btw'n your penis and the other person, which minimizes the chance of STI infection. Anytime bodily fluids are exchanged, there's a chance of contracting one, if the other person is infected.
Your point of wearing a condom for oral sex and it's reduced pleasure for both raises the question of the utility and overall pleasure of recreational oral sex btw'n people who basically don't know eachother well enough to be assured that there's no STI transmission.
Just because something like oral sex is offered doesn't mean you should do it. But if you do, and you dont really know the person very well, you should be wearing a condom, regardless of flavoring or appeal.

Indeed, it is uncomfortable. I'd never suck a piece of rubber ever again.

Condoms should be worn for all sex. Period. Condoms are to not just prevent pregnancy, but to prevent STDs too. So, unless you want herpes, I would wear one.

If he doesn't cum in your mouth, I don't see the problem. The penis is just another piece of skin...I don't see the harm in it. There are only like 1 or 2 STD's that are bourne on a person's skin. The risk is minimal in my opinion and it seems like wearing a condom would defeat the purpose. Might as well suck on a dildo or something.

As a general rule, oral is safer, but that doesn't mean it's completely safe. You're still crossing mucus linings between different people, whether or not the other guy cums in your mouth doesn't make much of a difference there.
I know that condoms make oral kinda....weird, but there's still a (slight) safety concern.

I think sometimes It's necessary, specially if you are not sure if the person can have a STD. Condoms can be very useful and safe because you can get a STD like herpes. In conclusion: condoms can be very useful to avoid a SDT.

AIDS, herpes, HPV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, Hep. B, syphilus, can all be transfered by oral sex. So, if you think the "pleasure" factor is worth it to sacrifice the safety of yourself and your life, then... go ahead and not wear a condom. But, if you do care about your safety, wear a condom. Everytime, all the time. The same goes for dental dams.

Most of those are impossible to get unless the guy cums in your mouth or you have an open sore in your mouth.

I'm no doctor, but I will agree with that on AIDs, Hep B. HPV, and herpes because they are viruses. But chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilus are all bacterial thus, do not require open sores. The point of the matter is, why take the chance? I'd rather be safe than sorry.

My advice- If you do choose to use a condom, use a flavored condom.

Small correction, HIV, not AIDS.

Note regarded to oral, but... People sometimes think that they can just cum "out of vagina" and that everything is safe without having a condom. This is, of course, not true.
