ive been cutting for years i do the cut and stich my boyfriend looked at my stomic last week and amoust cryed its coved with scares but i cant stop its like and addiction my friend pined me to the ground about two weeks ago and took my razor and slaped me across the face she says if i dont stop she is gonna make me stop i dont wanna stop but i dont know what to do

Well really, you should want to stop before you can stop. Try talking to her, And try and want to stop cutting really. IT CAN ruin your life! Imagine in years time, you finnd your life partner. YOU WILL have to explain the scars to them. Do you want to make that even worse?

Someone peoplle are complete twats and will not allow you certain jobs if they see your scars... I might not be able to be a clerk for a part time job anymore coz of my scars on my arm. Do you really want that?

So therefore you need to try and think about stopping. Its going to stop you from doing somethings. Like wearing a 2 piece to the beach. And many others. It COULD even stop you from finding sexual partners. Coz people are shallow like that.

Though I don't agree with your friend acting like that. I have never understood why people think threats can help. This is what my friend said to me when she found out "If you keep cutting yourself I will stop eating!" Threats like that never help as that made me feel worse because I knew how I was making her feel therefore making me hate myself even more so it just turned into a Vicious circle. I think people do need to understand this alot more, there needs to be more awareness.

My parents said "IF you cut again your not going to maddy's" (The girl you look like leigh" And that just made me cut thaat night, It also makes you not want to tell them. Me and my mum made a promise, "I wont smoke, you wont cut" I agreed she has smoked a lot in the last 40 days. i've cut once... i feel betrayed

I've always hated when My parents or adults talk to me about it. It feels awful! When my Mum mentions it I burst into tears, My head of 6th form mentioned it = Tears. My Dad makes the 'Motion' Across his arm (Ughh he was being such an idiot) I burst into tears. =/

Stopping means taking away a method of coping that you know works. You have to want to do that for you.

Once you make that decision, then there's help available

I'm not going to lie to you. It will be hard but I think it will be less painful if you do try to stop as you will not be intentionally hurting yourself as much.
But if you have a good group of people behind you to support you when you get weak then you can stop. If you want to add me on Msn, My email is on my profile. I'm not as good as Aaron but I can try to eb a distraction and try to talk you out of it, then you can build a support network on Msn.
