You should probably try and ask yourself...did anything major happen soon before you stopped sleeping? and what do you think about while you are trying to sleep, but failing?

There are plenty of things that apparently hlep with the sleep cycle, different things will work for different people. You can try the warm cup of milk before bed, reading before going to sleep or if you cannot find anything else that works, you could try asking your parents for some sleeping aids, again: these should really only be a last resort, and should only be used under parental supervision.

We can't really give a proper diagnosis as we are not doctors, I suggest you do go to a GP to try and sort out the underlying problem.

I agree with Declan on this one, try to think if there is anything which may be causing you problems when you try to sleep and see if you can eliminate those problems. You could also try introducing some form of pattern / timing to your bedtime routine, just try to get back into a natural rhythm of falling asleep at a certain time at night.

If you can't resolve things yourself, pop along to your doctor to get a better diagnosis and possibly some treatment.

I say see a doctor. Insomnia seriously sucks. I think that going to the doctor, so they can give you some techniques should help. Then if all else fails see if you can get on some light medications to help you.

Have you ever tried counting sheep :P It may work lol

In addition to counting sheep lol, make sure you are totally comfortbale, the temperature is great, there is some air moving, etc. Everything that makes you relax.

Even if you just lay in bed for 2 hours, its better than being on the computer or doing some other things around the house. Lay down, grab a blanket, watch tv or something and maybe you may fall asleep.
I think the key is being tired and being relaxed.

Good luck :D
