Well I've been taking Karate for 7 (maybe 8...idk) years now, I've just been thinking I could do a lot better if I were more agile and flexible. Now I don't need to do the splits or anything, but I'm just curious what specific exercises/things I can do to improve my flexibility and my stamina? What do you do to improve these things when you need to?
Thanks for the help!
Oh by the way I wasn't sure if this should go here or the Sports section, so if it needs to be moved I'm incredibly sorry.

I reach down and stretch my legs and I do the butterfly and Playboy which is bringing one of your legs and hugging it or putting the opposite arm over it. I do 25 jumping jacks and I run for a half an hour. And I stand on 1 leg to stretch out my quads.

You're basic stretches like touching your toes. I think...
I've been in boxing for quite a while now. I like to run :P

Well I stand on one leg a lot, just like a crane, but I just do that for balance. The exercise your describing, that sounds like the Lotus Position (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_position) often used in Yoga and Meditation. I used to be able to do it, can't anymore, hopefully with just stretching out like you said I can get to do that. Thanks for the advice LiGHT!

Right, just getting back to the basics might help, I think I'm going to start to run, if I do it everyday, I bet I can get into good shape
Is there anything else, always open to more suggestions

I am not expert obviously, but I know what they do with younger girls in dance to do the splits is just work it lower and lower all the tiem trying to get where you want to be. So basically stretch, not too far, but so you get a little straing, hold for a bit, then do that every day or so and it should be easy. When I used to do Tae Kwon Do, they did that in a way and I can still kick higher than my head.

No problem! I agree just do your basic stretches, situps and pushups. maybe a feel pullups. But your basic stretches should do.
