This is the thread to any food service workers to rant about working food service.

Here are mine:
-When someone doesn't understand that they have to wait in line with everyone else.
-When someone argues about the price of a menu item when the price is right in front of them.
-When someone acts like a menu price is up for discussion.
-When someone insists that they get something for free because they had to wait in line.
-When someone gets anal because their drink is very slightly short of being full to the brim.

Someone else can take it.

- Very loud whining kids who don't stop whining and whose parents do little to try to stop them.
- Late at night (i.e. close to 1-2 am), having some drunk people you have to deal with after several hours of work and you want to go home but they keep you there longer.
- When your shift is about to be over and some people come in to decide to eat (once again, close to 1 am or so).
- Since I did quite a bit of work in the kitchen itself, when you go out for a break and have to come through the entrance and a pile of people ask you for their food.
- When the waiters screw up badly and the kitchen gets so haywire yet still get new orders.
- When customers complain about the food after they've pretty much finished it.
- When customers or front staff or both get into some mess for long enough to screw up the orders.

And I'll stop there.

- Parents who don't watch their kids in the lobby
- Customers with foodstamps who accuse us of 'discriminating' since they have to pay cash for baking, or bitch since we can't deliver them baked food.
- Customers that stalk you... mine looks like Don Vito -shudders-
- People who have too many coupons
- People who don't understand the terms 'void with other offers' or 'at PARTICIPATING locations only'
- Men on the phone who ask for a female delivery driver >_>
- Drunk people who try to pick up on you
- Prank callers asking for McDonalds or some other fast food place. over.andover.andover. again.
- People that eat ALL of their food, then call back and complain that it wasn't what they ordered and demand free food.
- "I want extra, extra, extra, extra, extra, extra cheese on that."... "WHAT? It's gonna cost me HOW MUCH?!" *click*
- Bums and hobos coming in demanding free food.
- Getting off of my shift and people down the street at the bar yelling, "It's the pizza girl!"
- Being the only employee that speaks Spanish.
- Being the 'go-to' employee... I can't refuse extra shifts.

Okay, I'll stop now...lawl

As far as food service goes, I'm lucky in the fact that when we close, we close. Our registers get shut down and the passengers have to leave the boat. We're expected to have the entire stand shut down before all of the passengers have left the boat, but if someone comes up at the last minute and wants something, we get it for them, of course.
My main rant about working on the boat itself in food service is that customers like bitching at us because of things that employees in other areas do.

I work in my school cafeteria.

-when people say "man, that ain't enough food, yo' starvin' me", and it's like, I gave you one scoop like I was supposed to, and we have about 300 others to serve, so it's not fair if I give you more because we usually don't have enough.

-when people continue to argue about how much food you gave them. All of the people who do this are gangsters. So I talk back - "yea I ain't playin' wit' you fool, get all up out of here dawg, I be givin' doin' my job so get back all up out of here and take yo' dang food ho". After this, they're like "what did white boy just say!?"

-when people think because they look cute or because I know them, I'll give them more food. I only do that for TWO people. twwowoo.

-people asking "can you please give me something from that line *points* please?" and the answer is no. Go over there. "oh cmon! Just turn around!". No.

-when a little co-cafeteria worker noob (7th grader) thinks you're a noob (9th grader), and exclaims "I've been here longer than you so listen to me", and I'm like "what did you just say? I've been working here longer that you've been at this school! Shut up noob."

I think everyone should be a waiter for one year of their lives. That way you realise your ranch dressing isn't that fucking important.

Anyway, I work in the cafeteria. And it's hard enough being a lunchlady. And people are SO harassing in texas AND nevada. Ugh...

I work in a pizza takeaway.

People who ask for extra's and do not want to pay for them.
People who complain about the food and ask for a refund after eating it all, saying it was not good enough.
People who try to barter the menu price.
People who think they are being smart and know better about how we make the food/cook it than the staff members.

Thats all for now.
